ABC Family has canceled its freshman drama series JANE BY DESIGN. The news comes on the heels of renewals of the network's 'Melissa & Joey', 'Baby Daddy', and 'Bunheads.'

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and Paramount Pictures announce today that Jason Alexander will host The Big Picture: Paramount's 100th Anniversary celebrating the studio's rich cinematic and musical history at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 7:30 PM. This September, for the first time in eleven years, Chicago Opera Theater (COT) will present an opera in the fall: a new production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute. This is the first new production of The Magic Flute in Chicago in 17 years, the last being Chicago Opera Theater's production in 1995 at the Athenaeum Theatre. The opera will feature the Chicago premiere of the English translation by Jeremy Sams. The Magic Flute performs at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park on September 15, 19, 21, and 23.

For its seventh season Boston Midsummer Opera (BMO) presents the comic piece, Donizetti's Don Pasquale, playing at the Tsai Performance Center at Boston University for three performances only, tonight, July 25, 27, and 29. Obie Award winner/Tony Award nominee Austin Pendleton directs the fully staged and costumed production. Music director and nationally acclaimed conductor Susan Davenny Wyner leads the performances, which will be performed with orchestra and sung in English. Metropolitan Opera bass Ricardo Lugo will sing the role of Don Pasquale.

On Friday night, July 6, 2012, UFC champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva attended Jabbawockeez MÜS.I.C. show at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Silva enjoyed the show with his family before retaining his middleweight championship title on Saturday night.
