Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater Artistic Director Molly Smith and Executive Producer Edgar Dobie announce accomplished leader, director and artist Seema Sueko as the theater's new Deputy Artistic Director. Sueko joins Arena Stage from The Pasadena Playhouse, where she served as Associate Artistic Director since January 2014.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces a unique partnership with L.A. Theatre Works, the nation's leading producer of audio theater, to record John Strand's political drama THE ORIGINALIST, based on Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. The performances will feature the original cast of Arena Stage's world-premiere 2015 production starring Edward Gero as Scalia, Kerry Warren as Cat and Harlan Work as Brad, under the direction of Arena Stage Artistic Director Molly Smith.

The Old Globe welcomes the Arena Stage production of Pulitzer Prize winner Lawrence Wright's thrilling new play CAMP DAVID, directed by Arena Stage's artistic director, Molly Smith. The West Coast premiere of CAMP DAVID will play May 13 - June 19, 2016 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Pulitzer Prize Winner Ayad Akhtar Named Arena Stage Resident Playwright

Artistic Director Molly Smith announces Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and author Ayad Akhtar as Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater's next resident playwright as part of the American Voices New Play Institute, effective July 2016 through June 2017. Akhtar's emotionally-charged drama Disgraced, which won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, completes Arena Stage's 2015/16 season. Now in previews, the production officially opens April 28 and runs through May 29, 2016.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, in partnership with Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen and At-Large Councilmember Elissa Silverman, opens its doors for the seventh D.C. Career Fair Friday, April 22, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mead Center (1101 Sixth St., SW). Throughout the past three-and-a-half years, Arena Stage has partnered with nearly 75 participating organizations and served a combined total of more than 6,800 community members by hosting regular career fairs.

As previously announced, Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater will host An Evening with Ana Gasteyer, an exclusive celebration that includes the inaugural presentation of the Beth Newburger Schwartz Award, Monday, May 9, 2016. Additional details for the exclusive evening have been confirmed, including a host of D.C. luminaries serving on the honorary committee led by Event Chair and Arena Stage Board of Trustees Vice Chair Michele G. Berman. The evening will kick off with a VIP cocktail reception and three-course seated dinner, followed by the performance, after which guests will enjoy a post-show party with desserts and dancing.
Good Theater to Present James Lapine's ACT ONE

Good Theater the professional theater company in residence at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, 76 Congress Street, Portland will close its 14th season with the regional theater premiere of ACT ONE by James Lapine from the autobiography by Moss Hart. Good Theater is the first company to do Act One since its Broadway debut in 2014. The production opens April 6 and runs through May 1.
