The Tony Award-winning BIG RIVER: THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN comes to The Sauk, in Jonesville, for eight performances, August 9-19.
Though trying to stay 'respectable,' Huckleberry Finn runs into trouble when his father, Pap, returns to town. Huck is forced to fake his own death to escape and joins up with another on the run - Jim, a slave in the search for freedom. As they head down the river, they get sucked into scams involving two 'aristocrats,' one of which lands Jim in chains once again. Can Huck, with his best friend Tom Sawyer, join together to free him?

Neglected Musicals in association with Hayes Theatre Co will present BIG RIVER at Hayes Theatre Co from Wednesday 18 April for six presentations only. Directed by Ellen Simpson, this musical is based on Mark Twain's classic 1884 novel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the musical features music in the bluegrass and country styles in keeping with the setting of the novel.

Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn opened to a packed house at Theatre at the Center on Sunday night. Audience members leapt to their feet at the end of the performance of the now Jeff-Recommended production. Actors James Romney in the role of Huck and Jonathan Butler-Duplessis in the role of Jim lead the cast in the musical that continues through October 15.

American singer-songwriter and the winner of NBC TV's first season of The Voice, Javier Colon, will star in Unquowa Repertory Theatre's inaugural production of Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Big River in concert, led by theatre veterans Kirby and Beverly Ward, will hit Fairfield Theatre Company's StageOne for a limited run of four performances, June 15-17, 2017. Sharon Playhouse has announced complete casting for its 2017 Season. The season kicks off with MINOR CHARACTER: SIX TRANSLATIONS OF UNCLE VANYA, created by New Saloon (Morgan Green, Madeline Wise, and Milo Cramer), followed by FAR AWAY by Caryl Churchill (Love and Information). The season will conclude with a new, intimate chamber production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. In a shift that begins this season, Morgan Green (William Shakespeare's Mom) will direct all three productions, showcasing the talents and range of the rising director.
