The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is celebrating the induction of four outstanding artists into the NYFA Hall of Fame during its annual benefit on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at 583 Park Avenue. The evening's honorees are James Casebere, Faith Ringgold, Anna Deavere Smith, and Zhou Long.

Keen Company's spring production of BOY, featuring Bobby Steggert, Heidi Armbruster, Paul Niebanck, and Rebecca Rittenhouse, opens tonight Off-Broadway at The Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row.

Following a worldwide search for the most outstanding young talents in dance, literature, theatre and visual arts, Rolex recently announced the finalists who will be introduced to the respective mentors - Ohad Naharin (dance), Mia Couto (literature), Robert Lepage (theatre) and Joan Jonas (visual arts) - in the 2016-2017 Rolex Mentor and Protege Arts Initiative.

The new American play ECLIPSED by Danai Gurira just began Broadway previews last night, starring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o, Pascale Armand, Akosua Busia, Zainab Jah and Saycon Sengbloh. ECLIPSED, directed by Liesl Tommy, will open on March 6, 2016 on Broadway at the Golden Theatre (252 W. 45th Street). ECLIPSED marks a historic moment on Broadway: the first time the cast, director, and playwright are composed entirely of female artists, fitting for a production that so stunningly chronicles the experiences of a group of very resilient women. To celebrate, the show hosted some of the industry's other trailblazing and history-making women for the first preview. Bollywood is moving closer to Broadway! The new musical adaptation of the 2001 film MONSOON WEDDING is getting another developmental lab this winter, according to an Equity casting notice. The show had a private industry reading last December and will return to New York, running January 25 through February 25, 2016, with two new additions to its creative team.
