When Tim Minchin and Dennis Kelly's musical MATILDA, based on Roald Dahl's novel by the same name, first leapt across the pond most assumed that the Broadway cast would not get a cast recording. However, this production has been full of surprise announcements like Bertie Carvel reprising his role as Miss Trunchbull and the addition of an overture and pre-show curtain. Garnering positive notices when it opened on Broadway, the MATILDA (Original Broadway Cast Recording) does a great job capturing the spirit of the clever and spunky show.

The four girls who share the title role in MATILDA THE MUSICAL appeared on WLNY TV's "Live from The Couch" this morning. The four girls who share the title role in MATILDA THE MUSICAL will be guests on WLNY TV's "Live from The Couch" tomorrow morning Wednesday September 18 between 8-9 AM. The producers of the Tony Award-winning Matilda The Musical announced last week that the original Broadway cast recording will be produced by Michael Croiter and Christopher Nightingale for Broadway Records/Yellow Sound Label and will be released digitally and be available at the Shubert Theatre beginning Friday, September 27, 2013. There was a British invasion last night at the Little Shubert Theatre. The hit off-Broadway show Potted Potter hosted the cast of Matilda, the tenants of the Shubert Theatre on Broadway. Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner welcomed the four actresses playing 'Matilda'- Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon, Milly Shapiro. Check out photos from the special event below!

Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the 15th annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, sponsored by the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and additional sponsorship by the New York Times, BARKS will take place on Saturday, July 13 in Shubert Alley, the heart of the Broadway Theater District (located between 44th and 45thStreets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenues). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m. This year, BARKS will open the show with a performance from the Jersey Boysfollowed by the Broadway debut of many adoptable animals presented by many stars from this season's 'hottest' shows. In addition, Peters will be in Shubert Alley with famed illustrator/ author, Hilary Knight, the designer of this year's BARKS poster and Playbill cover. The signing is from 12 noon - 2:00p.m. All proceeds benefit Broadway Barks!

On this morning's GOOD DAY NEW YORK on FOX, Peters introduced to TV hosts Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto some of the dogs that will be up for adoption at this year's BROADWAY BARKS.
