STORYSTOCK Returns To Bush Theatre, October 2014

STORYSTOCK, the travelling story circus, returns to the Bush Theatre from 28th to 30th October 2014. Storystock is a storytelling festival for children (3-11) and their families, which launched at the Bush Theatre in autumn 2013. Last year's debut festival attracted nearly 2,000 visitors in 3 days.

Joey, the equine Star of the National Theatre's Production of War Horse, based on Michael Morpurgo's book, was one of the main attractions at Hyde Park at Saturday's BBC's Proms in the Park, hosted by Sir Terry Wogan. He made several appearances in the crowd during the evening, amongst the 40,000 strong crowd and on stage during the finale which included rousing choruses of 'Jerusalem' and the National Anthem.

The Lightbox gallery and museum in Woking, Surrey, will commemorate the centenary of World War One with the exhibition 'The Horse at War: 1914 - 1918' (25 November 2014 - 1 March 2015). Exploring the role of the horse in World War One, the exhibition will compare the glorified image of Officers and their chargers at War with the piteous desolation of these animals as beasts of burden when faced with gunfire and trench warfare.
