Photo Flash: WAR HORSE's Joey Comes to BBC's Proms in the Park

Joey, the equine Star of the National Theatre's Production of War Horse, based on Michael Morpurgo's book, was one of the main attractions at Hyde Park at Saturday's BBC's Proms in the Park, hosted by Sir Terry Wogan. He made several appearances in the crowd during the evening, amongst the 40,000 strong crowd and on stage during the finale which included rousing choruses of 'Jerusalem' and the National Anthem. WAR HORSE Concludes North American Tour this Summer

The North American touring production of WAR HORSE will conclude this summer as the highest grossing and most attended touring non-musical play in US history, recouping its investment in the process. The tour, which opened in June 2012 at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, has been seen by over 1.1 million audience members to date and, by its conclusion, will have played 68 engagements and 749 performances. The tour's final stop will be a four-week run at Tokyo's Theatre Orb, marking the play's Asian debut. (more...)

On the heels of Memorial Day, Broadway Across America - Houston is presenting the First US National Tour of the acclaimed play WAR HORSE. The visually spectacular production first premiered on London's Off-West End in the Olivier Theatre at the National Theatre. It transferred to the West End's New London Theatre, where it is still running. It enjoyed Broadway success at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at New York City's Lincoln Center. It has since been produced in Canada, Australia, and Germany. After seeing this tour, it is no surprise that everywhere the play goes, it leaves tear-soaked audiences speechless and amazed.
