Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for the "hysterically funny" (New York Post) new musical The Toxic Avenger.

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announced the cast and creative team for their production of The Toxic Avenger. In a new production, which features several new songs and revised book by the Tony Award-winning creative team of Memphis, Bon Jovi founding member and keyboardist David Bryan and Joe DiPietro, Tony-nominated Constantine Maroulis takes center stage as the righteous superhero in the title role. John Rando (Tony Winner for Urinetown) returns to the Alley to reinvent his hilarious 2009 Off-Broadway staging of The Toxic Avenger following his smashing Alley productions of The Man Who Came to Dinner, Mrs. Mannerly and Be My Baby.

The Original Broadway Cast Recording for THE BOOK OF MORMON was nominated for the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. The recording on Ghostlight Records made history earlier this year as the first Broadway cast recording to chart in Billboard's Top 10 since Hair in 1969 and was also cited by Billboard as the fastest selling digital cast recording release of all time. The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 12, 2012 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and broadcast on the CBS Television Network.

Producers of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, announced today that the Broadway production has recouped its capitalization during the week ending November 27, 2011. THE BOOK OF MORMON plays at Broadway's Eugene O'Neill Theatre, where it has broken the house record 22 times since the March 24, 2011 opening.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have reached a new deal with COMEDY CENTRAL to extend cable's longest-running animated series, 'South Park,' it was announced today by Michele Ganeless, president, COMEDY CENTRAL.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Comedy Central has just renewed its animated series SOUTH PARK for another three seasons, which will keep it on the air through 2016.

On Monday night, the Dramatists Guild of America hosted its annual Awards Night at the Players Club in New York City. Titled 1600 Penn, the pilot is about 'a dysfunctional family that just happens to live at the most famous address in America.' Gad will executive produce the project along with Jon Lovett and Jason Winer.
