Pittsburgh Public Theater Announces New Administrative Appointees

Board Chair Michael H. Ginsberg today announced the team that will lead Pittsburgh Public Theater when Producing Artistic Director Ted Pappas departs this August after 18 seasons. Named Artistic Director is Marya Sea Kaminski, the current Associate Artistic Director at Seattle Repertory Theatre. Promoted to Managing Director is Louis A. Castelli, who has been with Pittsburgh Public Theater for 20 years.

There's a well-known TV and Film writer who has a reputation for those quick witted, fast paced banter conversations (sometimes in the halls of the White House and sometimes while creating a social media platform. You know who I mean). And it's fun to listen to these people be more eloquent and quick than any of us could ever be in real life without a script. Now take those quick banter scenes, expand them to the length of an entire play, and pack them full to the brim with enough numbers and financial lingo that anyone outside Goldman Sachs would feel lost and what you have is Sarah Burgess' play "Dry Powder" currently playing at the Seattle Rep.

UW School of Drama Sets 2016-17 Season

The University of Washington School of Drama, under the leadership of Executive Director Todd London, has announced its 2016-2017 Season. As with their 75th anniversary season, the School of Drama will continue to build artistic partnerships with both local and national artists in an effort to provide more diverse learning opportunities for their students and create a laboratory environment within the School. Guest artists involved this season include: Ali el-Gassier, Marya Sea Kaminski, Jane Jones, Ellen McLaughlin, Qui Nguyen, Ken Rus Schmoll, Daniel Talbott, and Anne Washburn.
