Psittacus Productions presents 'A True History', a New Play by Chas LiBretto, directed by Louis Butelli in an experimental reading at Vineyard Theatre, 108 E. 15th Street, NYC, today, December 19 at 4pm. Free and open to the public, drinks and merriment afterwards.

With humor and vision, 'Kane and Habil in the Pizza Parlor' (http://kaneandhabil.com) explores the original family sins that are still impacting our civilization. The title characters are the children of Adam and Eve. The play is a comedy, written and directed by Serge Ernandez. The production features an adept cast headed by Obie-winner Sheila Dabney as Eve, who also directs the play's chorus. Ernandez is a veteran of The Living Theatre; Dabney is a senior member of La MaMa's Great Jones Rep. La MaMa E.T.C. will present the play's premiere run January 18 to 27 in its second-floor Club.

Golden Globe winner Tina Fey (NBC's "30 Rock") and Golden Globe nominee Amy Poehler (NBC's "Parks and Recreation") have signed to host NBC's exclusive coverage of "The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards" that will be broadcast live coast-to-coast on Sunday, January 13. Five finalists have been named in Pride Films and Plays' Great Gay Play Contest for 2013. These five plays will be performed as enhanced staged readings (with movement and design elements) by members of the Artistic Ensemble of Pride Films and Plays during Gay Play Weekend, May 16 to 19, 2013 at Center on Halsted's Hoover-Leppen Theatre, 3656 N. Halsted, Chicago. A full performance schedule for the weekend will be announced in January.

If 'Adam's Rib' and 'Moneyball' mated and begat a play, it might be 'Skybox,' a comedy of class warfare and the battle of the sexes that is set in the luxury box of a major league baseball park. The play, written by Walt Stepp and directed by Lissa Moira, is the successor to their collaboration on 'Siren's Heart: Norma Jean and Marilyn in Purgatory,' a play by Stepp which started at Theater for the New City and is now running Off-Broadway at the Actors Temple Theatre. Shana Farr, who last month won The Mabel Mercer Foundation's 2012 Julie Wilson Award as "a cabaret singer who is a rising star," has just completed her debut CD, titled Shana Farr: Out Of The Shadows , which will be introduced at a CD release party and performance at The Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South, in New York City tonight, November 30, at 9 PM. Ms. Farr is backed by a trio comprised of Music Director Jon Weber (piano), Adam Fisher (cello) and Dan Levinson (clarinet).
