Academy Award nominated and Emmy winning actress Patricia Clarkson will receive the ShoWest Independent Award for Excellence in Acting, it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, co-managing director of the event, which will be held March 30-April 2, 2009, in Las Vegas. Clarkson will be presented with the ShoWest Independent Award for Excellence in Acting at a special luncheon 'Celebrating the Importance of Independent and Specialty Film' on Thursday, April 2, at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas.

This Is Our Youth - In 1982, on Manhattan's Upper West Side, three pot-smoking teenagers are resoundingly rejecting the 1960s ideals of their affluent parents. In hilarious and bittersweet detail, Youth follows 48 turbulent hours in the lives of three very lost souls at the dawn of the Reagan Era. Starring original New York cast members Mark Ruffalo, Josh Hamilton and Missy Yager in the roles that launched their careers, and directed by original director Mark Brokaw, all performances are recorded to air on LATW's syndicated radio theater series, The Play's The Thing, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide.

It was announced today that Marin Ireland, Steven Pasquale, Piper Perabo and Thomas Sadoski will comprise the four-person cast of this season's production of Neil LaBute's new play, reasons to be pretty, under the direction of Terry Kinney. Perabo and Sadoski appeared in this summer's smash Off Broadway world premiere for MCC Theater, with Ireland and Pasquale slated to join the cast for

The Stella Adler Outreach Division provides free actor training to New York City pubic school students who might not otherwise be able to afford it. The Outreach Division offers year-long instruction to these aspiring artists with the same intensity and integrity of all the Studio's other learning tracks. The program also addresses at-risk youth's need to have a safe place to find and express their voices.
