L.A. Theatre Works will record the memorable, Tony Award-winning production of Awake and Sing! by top Broadway director Bartlett Sher with an all-star cast that includes the best of Broadway and Hollywood: Mark Ruffalo, Ben Gazzara, Jonathan Hadary and Peter Kybert from the Broadway production, as well as Emily Bergl, Jane Kaczmarek, Richard Kind, Raphael Sbarge, and Peter Smith.

60 years ago, the Stella Adler Studio opened its doors. Today, it is the most prestigious acting studio in the world. As part of its mission to give back to the community, the Studio has been providing free actor training - through the Outreach Division - to New York's inner city students who could not otherwise afford to go to the premiere school.

Sundance Institute announced today the lineup of films selected to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Matt Weaver & Scott Prisand, two of ROCK OF AGES' lead producers and co-owners of the LA-based Corner Store Entertainment, have two films in the top dramatic category at Sundance Film Festival. The films, which star a host of stage stars, are SYMPATHY FOR DELICIOUS (Mark Ruffalo, Laura Linney, Orlando Bloom and Juliette Lewis) and HESHER (Natalie Portman and Joseph Gordon Levitt).

Director Jacob Estes, who made a splash with his 2004 thriller 'Mean Creek,' has recruited as stellar cast for his new black comedy 'The Details.' According to Variety, James McAvoy, Laura Linney, Elizabeth Banks and Anna Friel have all signed on for the independently financed feature.

RFK: The Journey to Justice is a commission led by the University of Notre Dame's DeBartolo Performing Arts Center and co-commissioned by the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland, Stanford Lively Arts at Stanford University, and the Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond. Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Laura Linney ('John Adams,' The Savages) will play the lead role in Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming New York premiere of TIME STANDS STILL by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies.
The limited engagement, to be directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan (Accent on Youth, Sight Unseen on Broadway, Brooklyn Boy, Dinner with Friends) will begin previews at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in preparation for a Thursday, January 28, 2010 opening night. The production had previously been announced to play MTC's New York City Center - Stage I.

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Co. will be presenting 'Songs & Statues,' a new play by Peter Nickowitz and directed by Tom Oppenheim, grandson of Stella Adler. The production is about an assimilated Jewish family in 1958, suburban Connecticut whose lives are turned upside down when the father is passed over for a promotion because of their Judaism.
