New York Stage and Film (Johanna Pfaelzer, Artistic Director; Mark Linn-Baker, Max Mayer, Leslie Urdang, Producing Directors) and Vassar College (Ed Cheetham, Producing Director) have announced the full line-up of their 2011 Powerhouse Theater season, now entering its 27th year. The result of a unique collaboration between New York Stage and Film and Vassar College, the program consists of an eight-week residency on the Vassar campus (124 Raymond Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY) during which more than 200 professional artists and some 40 apprentices live and work together to create new theater works. The 2011 Main Stage season kicks off with Patricia Wettig's F2M (June 29 - July 10).

This was a busy weekend for award-winnig composer/lyricist/playwright/pianist/author Andrew Gerle as he celebrated not one, but two new books.

Accroding to Deadline.com, Broadway's Scott Rudin is set to produce 'Sinatra,' a bioic about music legend Frank Sinatra. Previously announced Martin Scorsese is on board to direct the film.

Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today the Nikos Stage line-up for the 2011 Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF), the company's 57th season and the first under Ms. Gersten's leadership. The Nikos Stage season kicks-off on June 22, 2011 and runs through August 21, 2011 and will include revivals of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire and Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, along with three new works: Lewis Black's One Slight Hitch, the East Coast Premiere of Bess Wohl's Touch(ed), and The Civilians' production of You Better Sit Down: tales from my parents' divorce. Directors taking part in the 2011 Nikos Stage season include David Cromer, Trip Cullman, Sam Gold, Joe Grifasi and Anne Kauffman. Actors Jessica Hecht, Paige Howard, Hamish Linklater, Lily Rabe, Sam Rockwell, Lili Taylor and many more will be featured this season on the Nikos Stage.

Andrew Gerle may be one of the most talented and promising composers/writers for the theatre today that you've never heard of. He launches the new year with an incredible lineup of projects on the horizon: a musical, a play, a new book, a star-studded revue, a concert reading at City Opera featuring an 80-piece orchestra, a recital performance of his work at London's Wigmore Hall, and the first-ever published volume of his songs.

Yesterday, December 12, New York Stage and Film presented their Annual Winter Gala. Top theatrical talent paid tribute to honorees Laura Linney (Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning actress) and Jordan Roth (President of Jujamcyn Theaters) at The Plaza Hotel including Steven Pasquale, Rebecca Naomi Jones and John Gallagher, Jr., and cast members from Spring Awakening, Hair and American Idiot. Vassar & New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater is pleased to announce the cast of PIRATE (July 21 - Aug 1), the latest among 13 new works by John Patrick Shanley to have premiered at Powerhouse since 1985. The cast will feature Bill Camp (Coram Boy, Heartbreak House, Revolutionary Road), Ivan Hernandez (Yank!, Romantic Poetry, Most Happy Fella), Charlotte Parry (Equivocation, Coram Boy, The Real Thing), and Michael Puzzo (Killing Women, Khartoum, Dirty Story, In Arabia We'd All be Kings).
