The brand new Elektra Theatre officially opens in Times Square tomorrow evening, July 25th. The first tenant at the Elektra Theatre is the transfer of the award-winning smash Off-Broadway hit, SILENCE! The Musical. The festivities will begin with a 6 PM cocktail hour, attended by Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Kara Lindsay and the cast of Broadway's NEWSIES. There will be an 8:30 after party immediately following the 7 PM performance of SILENCE! The Musical.

Mario Cantone, star of TV's Sex and the City, Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show, and Broadways Assassins and Laugh Whore, for which he was Tony-nominated, will join the Broadway at The Art House series for two shows only, on Aug 4 & 5, joined by host Seth Rudetsky at the piano.

For over twenty-five years, the late Bradshaw Smith (Founder & Executive Producer of "Broadway Beat" and Applause Video) was the theater world's preeminent videographer, capturing over 1,000 performances on Broadway, off-Broadway, in cabaret halls and beyond that now, because of him, live on today. Bradshaw Smith died on January 16, 2012, at age 57, following a sudden and severe stroke. To conclude the intimate memorial, Bradshaw's longtime friend and editor, Jonathan Frank, compiled the best of Bradshaw's work as a video artist. SILENCE! The Musical celebrates its one-year anniversary today, July 9th at PS122. Winner of the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, SILENCE! SILENCE! The Musical is celebrating July 4th with a special early 7 PM curtain time to allow folks to enjoy the annual fireworks display.

A memorial celebration to honor the life and career of Bradshaw Smith (Founder & Executive Producer of "Broadway Beat" and Applause Video) has been scheduled for Monday, July 9 at 4PM. Some of the performers and speakers taking part will include: Jared Bortz, Mario Cantone, Dan Daly, Jamie deRoy, Julie Halston, Jeff Harnar, Linda Harris, Karen Mason, Susie Mosher, Sidney Myer, Lee Roy Reams, Richard Ridge, Steven Skeels and Todd Stockman. The memorial will take place at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd Street (between 9th and 10th Avenues). A reception will follow in the Signature Theatre's Cafe and Bar.

SILENCE! The Musical is celebrating Gay Pride weekend with a special added matinee performance today, June 23 at 3 PM at PS122. The cast of the smash hit show is scheduled to appear in Sunday's Pride March, which begins at noon at 36th St. & Fifth Ave. and ends at Christopher & Greenwich Streets. The cast will be bringing along fun surprise goodies to hand out to all their fans in the crowd.
