The Broadway Community worships at the altar of Michael McElroy and, pretty soon, so will the world. The Broadway veteran, with many shows under his belt, founded the Broadway Inspirational Voices in 1994 and, last night, photographer and friend Walter McBride and I were invited to a private home, where an awe-inspiring event transpired. We witnessed the birth of PARLOR NIGHT, something that ladies Di Ana Pisarri and Schele Williams had dreamed of for some time.

Mario Cantone -- comedian, actor and Broadway star -- is taking the stage this summer with a new stand-up routine called ON THE WAY TO BROADWAY, which features his signature, irreverent humor and wickedly funny impersonations. Cantone just stopped by AOL HQ to talk about the show, which he hopes to actually bring to the Great White Way, and more. Watch the interview below!

Candice Guardino is adding to her list of successful theatrical productions with the debut of Gilda and Margarette, a sketch comedy show. Gilda and Margarette, will perform once a month at 9pm at Second City in Los Angeles.

Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the 17 writers and 8 new musicals selected for the fifth summer of weeklong retreats. For eight consecutive weeks beginning July 5th, each writing team will have a residency in Rhinebeck, New York. Writers are provided a private home, transportation, food, and a $400 stipend. This year's writers include Obie winner Kirsten Childs, Tony nominee Elizabeth Davis, and 2015 Jonathan Larson award-winners Charlie Sohne, Tim Rosser, and Sam Willmott, who also just won the Kleban Prize.

Today we are talking to a spectacularly talented triple threat who has made a prominent name for himself on Broadway in numerous notable roles over the last two decades, 2015 Tony Award nominee Max von Essen. The Visit, the final musical ever by legendary Tony Award-winning duo John Kander and Fred Ebb, celebrated its opening last night, April 23, 2015 at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). The Abingdon Theatre Company will present a reading of Charles Messina's play A ROOM OF MY OWN, starring Mario Cantone on April 21, 2015. The comedy is based on Messina's life growing up in Greenwich Village in the late 1970s.

On the Twentieth Century is choreographed by Tony winner Warren Carlyle and directed by six-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis, and features music by Cy Coleman, and book & lyrics by Betty ComdenandAdolph Green. On the Twentieth Century is based on plays by Ben Hecht, Charles MacArthur & Bruce Millholland. The original Broadway production was directed by Harold Prince.
