Candice Guardino Brings GILDA AND MARGARETTE to Second City Tonight

Candice Guardino is adding to her list of successful theatrical productions with the debut of Gilda and Margarette, a sketch comedy show.

Candice Guardino is most well-known for her funny and heartwarming solo-hit show Italian Bred, which premiered to sold out houses in New York City in 2013. This past February 2015, Italian Bred encored in LA to outstanding reviews and strong celebrity support at the Hudson Theatre.

In Italian Bred, Candice Guardino shares personal stories of growing up by impersonating various members of her family. The show includes virtual celebrity appearances from Mario Cantone (Sex & the City), Steve Schirripa (Sopranos), Emmy Award-winner Leslie Jordan, and Vic DiBitetto (Mall Cop). Much like the nostalgic scent of Sunday dinner, Italian Bred will remind audiences of their own unique upbringing and unforgettably humorous childhood memories. Gilda and Margarette is a comedy sketch show where 2 Italian-American broads from Brooklyn, "tell it like it is." Candice Guardino (Gilda) and Patricia Villetto (Margarette) are widowed sisters, whose husband's died of heart attacks one day apart from another. They meet every afternoon to chat on the bench outside of their apartment building. It's up-to-date news, gossip and daily living with big hair, wine and their iconic Brooklyn accents.

Gilda and Margarette, will perform once a month, starting tonight, May 7th at 9pm at Second City in Los Angeles.

Candice Guardino was born in Brooklyn, NY and earned her BA in Musical Theatre from Wagner College in Staten Island. During her career, she has written screenplays, dramas, sketch comedies, and sitcoms. Candice Guardino has appeared in Gypsy, West Side Story, Bye Bye Birdie, and Antigone. Candice has also performed at the Comedy Store in LA, as well as Gotham and the PIT in NYC. Candice Guardino was recently selected to be a comedy writer for the 2015 CBS Diversity Showcase, produced by CBS Casting VP, Fern Orenstein.
