Escape to Margaritaville, the new musical featuring the songs of iconic singer-songwriter-author Jimmy Buffett, opens tonight at the Marquis Theatre (210 West 46th Street) with a star-studded celebration of the eagerly anticipated musical's Broadway premiere.

The upcoming Broadway run of Gettin' The Band Back Together has announced that TV legend and Broadway veteran Marilu Henner has been cast as 'Mitch's Mom,' aka Sharon Papadopolous.

Laurel Little Theatre continues their 57th season with the Michael Frayn comedy "NOISES OFF" running the first weekend of March under the direction of Sam Buchanan.

According to Variety, Bette Midler will return to the big screen opposite Sharon Stone in a movie adaptation of Charles Busch's play, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife. Andy Fickman will direct the project.

Presented by Center Theatre Group, the Los Angeles engagement of 'Something Rotten!' opens Tuesday, November 21 at 8 p.m. at the Ahmanson Theatre. Performances will continue through December 31. Below, BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in action before next week's opening!

The world premiere of Paul Rudnick's new play 'Big Night' opened Saturday, September 16 at 8 p.m. at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. It has been a wild beginning to the week in terms of Broadway announcements, as not one, not two, but three shows announced main stem intentions for the next year. First, Monday brought a surprise Broadway announcement, as Ken Davenport and his fellow producers announced that the long-gestating original musical GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER will be coming to Broadway's Belasco Theatre beginning in July of 2018.

The new Stan Zimmerman and Christian McLaughlin play, Knife to the Heart: The Circumcision Comedy, held a starry private reading on May 8, 2017, at Chicago's The Second City, the iconic institution home to some of the world's greatest comedy, produced by Steve Abrams, Tony D'Angelo, Stefani Nicole von Huben, Kim Stafford and Tommy Lipnick. Readings for potential investors and invited industry members are in preparation for a slated Chicago run in Spring 2018 at the Broadway Playhouse (exact dates to be announced), and mark the launch of new Chicago-based commercial producing team TADA Theatricals, led by Chicago theatre veterans Steve Abrams and Tony D'Angelo. TADA Theatricals will bring vibrant new work to audiences in Chicago and beyond, with a commitment to creating job opportunities for Chicago's world-class arsenal of theatrical talent.

GRUMPY OLD MEN: THE MUSICAL a stage adaptation of the classic 1993 Warner Bros. motion picture comedy, 'Grumpy Old Men,' will be presented this Thursday, June 15th @ 11am & 3pm in New York City. Attendance is by invitation only.
