On October 22, the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) presents the first major exhibition in the Museum's history dedicated to time-based media. Truth: 24 frames per second brings together 24 pioneers of film and video and over six decades of work focused on pressing contemporary themes, such as race relations, political unrest, sexual identity and the media, to explore the nature of truth and reality in contemporary life.

The University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) is renowned internationally as one of the best venues for experiencing historical and contemporary world cinema. When BAMPFA opens its new downtown Berkeley building designed by Diller, Scofidio + Renfro to the public on January 31, 2016, filmgoers will be treated to more of the stellar film programming they've come to expect, as well as vastly improved facilities for experiencing and studying the moving image. In its inaugural year, BAMPFA will expand the number of film screenings it presents, hosting programs 52 weeks per year, offering more film programming for K–12 students and lifelong learners, and introducing some limited engagements of selected films. BAMPFA patrons will enjoy two state-of-the-art film theaters (232 and 33 seats, respectively), an exterior LED screen for occasional outdoor screenings, and easier accessibility to the well-appointed Film Library and Study Center, galleries, store, and cafe.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today Let Us Now Praise Famous Men: The Films of Pedro Costa, from July 17-23. The series precedes the opening of the Portuguese auteur's long-awaited, "hauntingly beautiful" (Variety) new film, Horse Money, which played last fall at the 52nd New York Film Festival and opens theatrically at the Film Society on July 18.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the 2014 NYFF Talks will feature Paul Thomas Anderson in conversation for On Cinema, and the HBO Directors Dialogues participants will be Mathieu Amalric, Pedro Costa, Mike Leigh, and Bennett Miller. All five events are sponsored by HBO.

Film Society of Lincoln Center Announces Details for 'Fassbinder: Romantic Anarchist'

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the details for Fassbinder: Romantic Anarchist (Part 1), May 16 - June 1. Divided into two parts, the retrospective will be the most extensive presentation of Fassbinder's films in New York since 1997, with Part 1 including almost all of his work leading up to 1974 and Part 2 (screening in November) to pick up from 1974 through 1982. The ambitious two-part series will include all of his theatrical features, much of his television work, films he starred in, films that influenced him, and films that were influenced by his work.
