Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's mainstage season continues with the American classic A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry. The production, running March 24 - April 15, 2017, is directed by Christopher V. Edwards and features Geoffrey Warren Barnes II, Burgess Byrd, and Torie Wiggins in the leading roles. The production is generously sponsored by Johnson Investment Council and Thompson Hine LLP.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2016-2017 season with the American theatre classic, A Raisin in the Sun, written by Lorraine Hansberry and directed by Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Assistant Artistic Director Chip Miller and Marissa Wolf, Director of New Works.

The Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) will present a limited engagement of the Tony Award-winner Raisin this spring. The musical, which won the Best Musical Tony Award in 1973,  will return to New York City after a 42-year hiatus from May 4 to May 27, 2017 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 30-44 Crescent St (at 30th Road), Astoria, NY 11102. 

Syracuse Stage Artistic Director Robert Hupp yesterday announced the plays selected for the 2017/2018 season. The six plays are "The Three Musketeers", "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time", "The Wizard of Oz", "Next to Normal", "A Raisin in the Sun", and "The Magic Play".  

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announces acclaimed director Liesl Tommy, who received a Tony nomination for her direction of Eclipsed by Danai Gurira on Broadway, will direct Steppenwolf's world premiere production of Pass Over by Antoinette Nwandu. Ebony Repertory Theatre (ERT - Producing Artistic Director Wren T. Brown) announced today that ERT will present FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE starring Emmy Award-winner Obba Babatunde (Dreamgirls/Tony nomination). Written by Clarke Peters, this exuberant, international hit musical pays tribute to the music of rhythm and blues pioneer Louis Jordan.  ERT's production, directed and choreographed by Keith Young (On The Town), with musical direction by Abdul Hamid Royal (FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE/original Broadway production) will commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the musical's Broadway production. Performances will run May 18 - June 11, 2017 with an official press opening on Saturday, May 20 at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center (4718 West Washington Boulevard) in Los Angeles, 90016.
