SLOWGIRL Ends Twice-Extended Run Today, 8/5

The Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 production of SLOWGIRL, a new play by Greg Pierce, directed by Anne Kauffman, will end its extended limited engagement today, Sunday, August 5 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).

The Flea Set to Premiere JOB, Beginning 8/31

The Bats are back and in The Flea Theater's New York premiere production of JOB, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Flea Resident Director Benjamin Kamine. Previews begin August 31, with opening night slated for Wednesday, September 19.

Founded in 1979 by its artistic director Jeffrey Horowitz, Theatre for a New Audience is a modern classical theatre that produces Shakespeare alongside other major authors in a dialogue that spans centuries. Its 33rd season, the last before moving to its first home adjacent to BAM in the new Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District, features boldly diverse works from William Shakespeare, Franz Kafka in a theatrical adaptation by Colin Teevan, Samuel Beckett and Wallace Shawn. In a co-production with The Public Theater, Mr. Shawn's plays will be part of The Wallace Shaw-Andre Gregory Project.

One for My Baby, set to a score of some three dozen Harold Arlen classics and billed as "a song-and-dance celebration ofbig-city nightlife at the end of World War II," will have a private, industry-only workshop at the New 42nd Street Studios, 229 West 42 Street, this October 11 and October 12.

Robert Egan to Direct OTHER DESERT CITIES at Center Theatre Group; Opens 12/9

Center Theatre Group has announced that Robert Egan is set to direct Jon Robin Baitz's immensely entertaining "Other Desert Cities" at the Mark Taper Forum. The play that received a 2012 Tony nomination for Best Play will be presented in its West Coast premiere at the Taper and will close out the Taper's 45th season at the Los Angeles Music Center.

Heidi Armbruster, Adam Dannheiser and More to Lead LCT3's DISGRACED

LCT3 has announced that Heidi Armbruster, Adam Dannheiser, Aasif Mandvi, Omar Maskati, and Karen Pittman will comprise the cast of five of DISGRACED, a new play by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Kimberly Senior, which will open LCT3's 2012 - 2013 season beginning Sunday, October 7 through Sunday, November 18 at LCT3's new home at Lincoln Center Theater, the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night is Monday, October 22. LCT3 is producing this New York premiere of DISGRACED by arrangement with the Araca Group.

According to its website, the Vineyard Arts Project just held two 'in-progress' readings on July 18 and 20 of Moss Hart's Act One, adapted for the stage by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and director James Lapine and commissioned by the Lincoln Center Theater. The readings starred Tony Shalhoub ('Monk', Lend Me a Tenor), Debra Monk (Steel Pier, Redwood Curtain), Chuck Cooper (The Life, Caroline, or Change) and David Turner (On A Clear Day You Can See Forever).
