It is no accident that Jerome Kern is also known as 'The Dean.' Author and Lyrics & Lyricists series artistic director Deborah Grace Winer takes the helm as artistic director/writer/host for The Song is You: Jerome Kern Coast to Coast, tonight, May 4 and May 5, 6. Winer is joined by vocalists Karrin Allyson, Debby Boone, Jeffry Denman, bassist Jay Leonhart, Howard McGillin, Paula West and Karen Ziemba, with special guest Barbara Carroll.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, written by Christopher Durang, today won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award (NYDCC) for Best Play of the 2012-2013 season. Matilda received the award for Best Musical. The selections were made at the 78th annual voting meeting of the organization today at the offices of Time Out New York in Manhattan.

UglyRhino Productions and Park Slope's Tea Lounge come together to present WHAT IT MEANS TO DISAPPEAR HERE, a world premiere play by Jeremy J. Kamps. Directed by Danny Sharron, this site-specific production runs at Port Royal, a found performance space under the Tea Lounge (837 Union Street, Brooklyn) today and Friday nights starting today, April 25 through Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m.

Tomorrow, Thursday April 25, the Strand Bookstore (826 Broadway) will present an in-store discussion with playwright Douglas Carter Beane and director Jack O'Brien, of the Lincoln Center Theater production of THE NANCE, currently playing on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre. Bitingly relevant, and radically entertaining, Dion Boucicault's THE POOR OF NEW YORK opens at The Connelly Theater in the East Village, tonight, April 24, 2013. Tyne Rafaeli will direct a rip-roaring Columbia Stages production featuring a cast of 25, and 8 live musicians.

Complete casting is set for SUMMERWORKS 2013 - the annual season of new plays presented by the four-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb -- it has been announced by Maria Striar, Clubbed Thumb's Producing Artistic Director. The Drama League (Executive Director, Gabriel Shanks) has announced the 2013 Drama League Awards Nominees for Distinguished Play, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and Distinguished Performance Award.
