Trinity Repertory Company announced today that three local Rhode Island residents will be receiving Pell Awards this year in addition to Kate Burton, who had previously been announced as the recipient of the 2013 Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. The 17th annual Pell Awards will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Trinity Rep with a reception to follow next door at the Providence Public Library.

New York's Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents the Los Angeles premiere of the critically-acclaimed play Slipping, written and directed by Daniel Talbott, which begins previews tonight, April 4, 2013 at Elephant Stages' Lillian Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The five-week limited engagement is scheduled to open Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 7:00pm and run through Sunday, May 5, 2013.

Lincoln Center Theater previously announced that Betsy Aidem, Blair Brown, Michael Cerveris, Anthony Cochrane, Lauren Culpepper, Alvin Epstein, Kathryn Erbe, John Glover, Jennifer B. Grace, Katie Kreisler, Stephen Kunken, Haviland Morris, Dale Place, John Procaccino, Gareth Saxe and Alan Schmuckler would be featured in the 18-member cast of its world premiere production of NIKOLAI AND THE OTHERS, a new play by Richard Nelson. The play, which was commissioned by Lincoln Center Theater, will be directed by David Cromer and will begin performances tonight, April 4 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. Opening night is Monday, May 6.

TimeLine Theatre Company concludes its 2012-13 season with a play that was named among the Top 10 of 2011 by The New York Times. The Chicago premiere of Blood and Gifts by J.T. Rogers, directed by TimeLine Associate Artistic Director Nick Bowling, runs May 9 - July 28, 2013 (previews April 30 - May 8) at TimeLine Theatre, 615 W. Wellington Ave, Chicago. Press Opening performance is Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Bitingly relevant, and radically entertaining, Dion Boucicault's THE POOR OF NEW YORK opens at The Connelly Theater in the East Village, April 24, 2013. Tyne Rafaeli will direct a rip-roaring Columbia Stages production featuring a cast of 25, and 8 live musicians.

Previews are currently underway for Lincoln Center Theater's production of THE NANCE, Douglas Carter Beane's new play, directed by Jack O'Brien, at the Lyceum Theater (149 West 45th Street). The Drama League has just announced that Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce will host The 79th Annual Drama League Awards. The Awards Luncheon will be held Friday afternoon, May 17th at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway) at noon.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces William Shakespeare's Henry VIII, the first professional Chicago production in 400 years since its debut at Shakespeare's Globe in London. Staged by Artistic Director Barbara Gaines in CST's Courtyard Theater April 30-June 16, 2013, Henry VIII features a celebrated company of artists that includes Gregory Wooddell in the title role and Christina Pumariega as Anne Boleyn. The acting company features an ensemble of veteran CST actors which includes Kate Buddeke, David Darlow, Kevin Gudahl, Scott Jaeck, Ora Jones, David Lively and Mike Nussbaum.

The National Theatre of Great Britain's epic WAR HORSE, winner of five 2011 Tony Awards including Best Play, will make its premiere in Columbus at the Ohio Theatre beginning April 23. Hailed by The New York Times as "theatrical magic," WAR HORSE is the powerful story of young Albert's beloved horse, Joey, who has been enlisted to fight for the English in World War I. In a tale the New York Daily News calls "spellbinding, by turns epic and intimate," Joey is caught in enemy crossfire and ends up serving both sides of the war before landing in no man's land. Albert, not old enough to enlist, embarks on a treacherous mission to find his horse and bring him home. What follows is a remarkable tale of courage, loyalty, and friendship, filled with stirring music and songs and told with the some of the most innovative stagecraft of our time.

ANN, the new critically acclaimed play written and performed by Emmy Award-winning actress Holland Taylor and directed by Benjamin Endsley Klein, has been extended through Sunday, September 1, 2013, on Broadway atLincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

UglyRhino Productions and Park Slope's Tea Lounge come together to present WHAT IT MEANS TO DISAPPEAR HERE, a world premiere play by Jeremy J. Kamps. Directed by Danny Sharron, this site-specific production runs at Port Royal, a found performance space under the Tea Lounge (837 Union Street, Brooklyn) on Thursday and Friday nights starting on Thursday, April 25 through Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m.

The world premiere of 'The Nether,' a new play by Jennifer Haley that explores the moral complexity of our increasingly virtual existence, opened at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre on Sunday, March 24. The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced this year's recipients for the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. This year's awards will be presented to Bernard 'Bernie' Gersten, Executive Producer of Lincoln Center Theater; Scenic Designer Ming Cho Lee and Paul Libin, Executive Vice President of Jujamcyn Theatres.

Lincoln Center Theater presents an LCT3 Special Event of Mr. Joy, a 90-minute one-man show written and performed by Daniel Beaty and directed by Sheryl Kaller.
