The Bushwick Starr has announced its 2013-14 Season of Programming. The Season begins with its developing work program, the Propeller Project, which this year introduces a new piece by playwright, Kristine Haruna Lee. Main Stage shows feature an exciting line-up of theater artists: the TEAM (Mission Drift, Architecting), David Greenspan (The Myopia), Jennie MaryTai Liu (Soul Leaves Her Body), Daniel Fish and Andrew Dinwiddie (Tom Ryan Thinks He's James Mason Starring in a Movie by Nicholas Ray, Get Mad at Sin!), and William Burke (Furry). The ongoing community events and festivals, Puppets & Poets, Brooklyn Gypsy, and Big Green Theater, will continue to present new collaborative work geared towards our Bushwick neighborhood audience. And finally, the monthly Starr Reading Series will cultivate new plays in development from some of NYC's most exciting young playwrights.

Pierrot Productions will entertain audiences with the classic musical fable about the road to stardom with 'Gypsy,' coming to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. Dates and times are Fridays, March 15 and 22 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, March 16 and 23 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, March 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on March 15.

Bloodless: The Trial of Burke and Hare is the first offering from Theatre 20, a brand new Canadian theatre company with a goal to foster the development of new Canadian musicals. Written by Winnipeg playwright Joseph Aragon, the show tells the true story of the West Port murders in Edinburgh in 1829. With a solid cast and some great original music, the show is a brave first choice for Theatre 20.

Theatre 20's much anticipated first production opened last night at The Panasonic Theatre in Toronto. Bloodless: The Trial of Burke and Hare, is something unique and rare: a new Canadian musical. Written by Joseph Aragon, the show was a hit at The Winnipeg Fringe where Theatre 20 Artistic Director Adam Brazier picked it up and decided to use it for Theatre 20's inaugural show. The stage is set for the joyful visit by Jolly Old St. Nick. The Kelsey Players present a beloved musical adaptation of Clement Moore's TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. Performances take place Friday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, December 11 at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.; and Sunday, December 12 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road.
