CYT-North Idaho's Alice, from their upcoming winter musical, Alice the Musical, will be reading to children and performing at the Hayden Library, the Coeur d'Alene Library, and the Liberty Lake Library on February 13. Alice will read from 'Alice in Wonderland' at 10:30 a.m. in Hayden; 1 p.m. in Coeur d'Alene and 4 p.m. in Liberty Lake. Alice will also be available for pictures.

After a sold out 9-week run in 2012 and the destruction by Hurricane Sandy of what was supposed to be their new home at South Street Seaport, Third Rail Projects has found a new venue to house its critically acclaimed production of THEN SHE FELL. This immersive theater event is inspired by the life and writings of Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland). It is written, directed, designed and choreographed by Zach Morris with Tom Pearson and Jennine Willett and in collaboration with The Company. Performances of this open-ended run will resume March 9 at The Kingsland Ward at St. Johns, a century-old institutional building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that will allow the action to play out on 3 floors.
Farmington Players Open RABBIT HOLE, 2/15

In playwright David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole, opening February 15th at the Farmington Players Barn Theater, a couple struggles to put their lives back together after the accidental death of their child. Laurel Stroud of Redford Township plays Becca and Jay McNeil of West Bloomfield plays her husband Howie. As they battle to return to "normal" and reunite as a couple, each copes with the tragedy in very different and often conflicting ways. This contrast is most stark in the way each relates to Jason (played by Joel Hunter of Commerce Twp.), the young man who accidentally killed their son.

NBC is going down the rabbit hole. According to TV Guide, the network has ordered a pilot for an ALICE IN WONDERLAND sequel series from CSI creator Anthony Zuiker.

UP Playwright's Theater's restaging of the children's play "Umuulan, Umaaraw, Kinakasal ang Tikbalang," based on the short story by Gilda Cordero Fernando, is more akin to film auteur Akira Kurosawa's first segment in his film "Dreams," and to Mexican filmmakers Guillermo del Toro and Alfonso Cuaron's El laberinto del fauno ("Pan's Labyrinth") than to English author Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland."

Goodman Theatre announces Jimmy McDermott, former associate artistic director at Writers' Theatre, as the recipient of the 2012/2013 Season Michael Maggio Directing Fellow for Chicago-based directors. As a fellow, McDermott will receive a stipend and the opportunity to assist on a Goodman production-from early research and design through the casting and rehearsal process to the opening-and become involved in the Goodman's artistic team. Previous Maggio Fellows include Lynn Ann Bernatowicz (2002/2003), Mignon McPherson Nance (2003/2004), Ann Filmer (2005/2006), Dado (2006/2007), Anthony Moseley (2007/2008), Joanie Schultz (2009/2010) and Anna Bahow (2011/2012).
