The producers of HAIR have announced the addition of six new cast members to the Tony Award-winning musical. Krystal Joy Brown, Heath Calvert, Matt DeAngelis, Rachel Bay Jones, Hannah Shankman and Ryan Watkinson have now joined the 'Tribe.' HAIR began preview performances on March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC) and opened to rave reviews on March 31, 2009.

Deidre Goodwin (A Chorus Line) and Morgan Karr (Spring Awakening, Everyday Rapture) also star in this high-energy musical comedy focusing on the electoral process from the perspective of three high school seniors. The race forces the candidates to consider the meaning of each vote and the importance of distinctive character in politics. While some of the students have no problem gaining approval from their peers, others act as though they'll stop at nothing to win the coveted position of student council president.

In celebration of the Tony-winning revival of Hair's cast recording release, company members performed numbers from the show at Barnes & Noble. The creators also discussed the groundbreaking musical and production. The event took place at 5pm on Thursday, August 20 at the Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle (1972 Broadway at 66th St), 3rd Floor. Last holiday season, due to the 2007 Broadway stagehands' strike, fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and sales of its annual holiday CD, Broadway's Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure, were gravely impacted. With most theaters dark, the main source of sales of the CD was cut off. Stephen DeAngelis, NYC casting director and Artistic Director from the Engeman Theater, contacted Lynn Pinto, Executive Producer of Carols for a Cure, to see if they could sell the CDs to help make up for strike losses. The Engeman Theater sold hundreds of the CDs. In gratitude, Ms. Pinto invited performers from the Engeman Theater to record a track of their own for the 2008 CD.

Disney High School Musical is based on the Emmy Award® winning Disney Channel hit musical and triple-platinum selling soundtrack. Disney High School Musical began performances at the Millburn theatre on November 5 and will run through December 7, 2008.

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport's current cast of Little Shop of Horrors has been invited to join the casts of the 2008 Broadway season on Broadway's Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure, (Volume 10). The recording is a two-disc set featuring 36 original and traditional holiday songs which is released during Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' (BC/EFA) annual six week 'Gypsy-of-the-Year' period. The 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition will also feature highlights from Volumes 1-9 of Carols for a Cure as well as the premiere of a new song by Elton John and other bonus tracks.
