Mixed Magic Theatre (MMT) is thrilled to open its season with Amiri Baraka's Dutchman and The Slave, two searing, timeless and timely dramas that will be performed in repertory in the company's two renovated performance spaces Nov 10 -26.

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S is a literary and movie classic that always charms, and 2nd Story Theatre's production captures the setting and characters perfectly.  If you haven't been to 2nd Story lately, it's worth a visit just to see all of the changes.  The sets for this production, by Max Ponticelli, take the previous stadium seating configuration into a theatre in the round with brownstone facades, cobbled stones and a lovely balcony perfect for singing Moon River.  Every aspect of this production is so well thought out that you immediately feel like you've slipped into 1940's New York City the second you sit down.  There are a couple aspects of this production that dull the magic slightly, but overall, this is charming summer theatre that will also tugs at heartstrings.

In this delightful yet melancholy mid-century classic, a young Southern-born writer becomes infatuated with his Upper East Side neighbor: the BEGUILING, effervescent Holly Golightly.

Women in business in the 1950's--not the easiest row to hoe.

Rona Jaffe's mid-century page-turner electrified millions of women who saw their own lives reflected in the experiences of five young employees of a New York publishing house. Julie Kramer's adaptation touchingly and faithfully captures Jaffe's incisive look at the personal and professional struggles these women faced (face?) in their male-dominated world, bringing it to colorful theatrical life with sympathy, wit, intelligence and love.

Since 2012, OUT LOUD Theatre has grown into an experimental and movement oriented ensemble, rooted in creating visceral and immersive experiences with creative and innovative artists. Located in the heart of Providence, Rhode Island and currently acting as one of The Mathewson Street Collaborative's 2017 Artists in Residence, OUT LOUD announces it's upcoming Season 5: 'THAT WAY MADNESS LIES'.

Storytelling is something that, fundamentally, defies definition. Who is to say how a story should best be told? How many different ways have stories been passed down over the centuries? Whatever our own preferences are for storytelling forms and devices, there are countless others, often used in successful ways. In its three years of existence, OUT LOUD Theatre has at times defied conventional definitions of storytelling and developed their own unique style. With its spectacular use of that style, their current production of Dracula is a gorgeous example of the company's storytelling prowess, wrapped in a unique and surprising piece of theatrical art.

AMERICA STRIPPERS is a show that leaves the audience wiping away tears of laughter as it manages to both take one back to childhood while still remaining very adult.  Sound overwhelming?  It is, but in a very good way.
