Keith Lockhart led the Boston Pops in an evening concert in the Shed on August 16, with celebrated pianist, vocalist, and archivist of the great American Songbook, Michael Feinstein. The evening featured some of the most beloved tunes in the American songbook repertoire. Special guests included Broadway and television star Cheyenne Jackson and actress and singer Faith Prince. The Brevard Music Center (BMC) is pleased to announce that Mark Weinstein has been appointed as the next President of the institution. Weinstein has a distinguished 35-year career in the arts having served as Executive Director of the New York City Opera, General Director of the Pittsburgh Opera, Executive Director of the Washington National Opera, and CEO of the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas. Most recently he has worked as a consultant serving performing arts groups in Washington, D.C., and Pittsburgh.

Gloriæ Dei Cantores, the internationally acclaimed choir from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, continues its 2013 25th Anniversary Celebration - a series of concerts illuminating choral treasures from rich cultural traditions around the globe - with concerts today and tomorrow, August 2 and 3 at the Church of the Transfiguration, Orleans. The repertoire features rarely performedmasterpieces Missa Brevis by Zoltán Kodály, Cherubic Hymn by Howard Hanson, Brazilian Psalm by Jean Berger, and Lo, the Full, Final Sacrifice by Gerald Finzi. Tickets are $35 ($30 Seniors and Free for students and under 18.)

Sunday, August 4, at 3:00 p.m. Keith Lockhart and the Brevard Music Center Orchestra bring the 2013 season to an exciting finale with special guest, internationally renowned cellist Johannes Moser performing Elgar's elegiac cello concerto. The concert will close with Holst's beloved suite for large orchestra, The Planets, as the center celebrates the end of another summer of outstanding music.

The tenth anniversary Deer Valley Music Festival's fourth week will include offerings of classical, bluegrass and folk-rock music with the Utah Symphony. Keith Lockhart, Utah Symphony Music Director from 1998 through 2009 and Boston Pops conductor since 1995, will return to the Festival to conduct the Utah Symphony at the three performances.
