Roundabout Theatre Company's Tony-nominated ANYTHING GOES got a little more special this weekend during Fleet Week! After the show, Captain Zubah Koweh (US Marine Corp) brought his girlfriend ENS Amy Sullivan (US Navy) to attend a performance of ANYTHING GOES on Broadway. Following the curtain call, Captain Zubah Koweh (in uniform) got to propose marriage to his girlfriend in front of a sold-out audience while standing on stage surrounded by Sutton Foster, Joel Grey and all of the show's sailors. Nominations for The 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards were announced on Friday, April 29, 2011, at 9:30 AM at the New York Friars Club, 57 East 55th Street, in Manhattan. Amongst the shows with multiple nominations were THE BOOK OF MORMON with 12, ANYTHING GOES with 10, THE MERCHANT OF VENICE with 7, BENGAL TIGER AT THE BAGHDAD ZOO, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, SEE ROCK CITY & OTHER DESTINATIONS and WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN with 6.

Yesterday, May 15, the 2011 Fred and Adele Astaire Awards were held at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at NYU. The Fred & Adele Astaire Awards afe the only awards to recognize excellence in dance & choreography on Broadway and in film.
