Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Producing Artistic Director), by special arrangement with Chase Mishkin, will present free performances of "Me and Miss Monroe", a new musical with book and lyrics by Charles Leipart, music by William Goldstein, directed by John Rando, starring Rachel York as Marilyn Monroe.

Kean University in Union NJ is offering a variety of musical events throughout the month of March. With performances in the stunning Gene and Shelley Enlow Recital Hall, the intimate Kean Hall concert venue and the University Center Little Theatre, Kean's line-up includes a diverse blend of ethnic music, classical performance, jazz and opera.

Thomas Z Shepard, the renowned cast recording producer, saw the acclaimed musical and was extremely impressed. This week he produced a 5 song demo recording with full orchestra and cast members featuring Andy Mientus. Next week the musical has been invited to Florida for the Mainstreet Musicals Festival for presentations with Hal Linden. This Sunday the show will be presented with 2010 NYMY Awards For Excellence: EXCELLENCE IN OVERALL DESIGN - Shine! Michael Bottari & Ron Case; OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE - Andy Mientus, and Honorable Mention: Peter Flynn, For Direction. The production was a Critics Pick from BackStage.

Directed by Peter Flynn with choreography Devanand Janki; set and costume design by Michael Bottari & Ronald Case and the lighting design by Jeff Croiter. Greg Anthony served as the music supervisor, arranger, orchestrator; Annbritt duChateau was the music director and the associate musical directors were Danny Percefull and Sue Anschultz. A multi-talented cast of 19 made this one of the largest of the festival productions. The principals were: Andy Mientus (Richard Hunter); Michael Halling (Luke Gerrish); Meggie Cansler (Stacia Jane Hauser); Jimmy Ray Bennett (Gideon Chapin); William Ryall (Silas Snobden); Stanton Nash (Higgins); Philip Chaffin (Allen Carlisle); Tyler Merna (Rob Carlisle); Dan Lawler (Foswell); Evan Jay Newman (Mickey Maguire) and Katherine McGrath (Mrs. Mooney). The Ensemble included: Jason Mills, Cheo Bourne, Todd Horman, Robert Mintz, Rachell Coloff, Jessica Vosk, Joy Hermalyn and Melissa Rain Anderson.

Today, December 29, Charmin teamed up with non-profit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS to present 'Bathrooms over Broadway,' the first-ever Broadway show in a bathroom. The 10-15 minute 'cheeky' musical production took place, free-of-charge, before a live audience at the Charmin Restrooms featuring the theatrics of several well-known Broadway stars, including 'Shrek the Musical's' Christopher Sieber.

For tourists, local New Yorkers and avid lovers-of-the-arts alike, the best 'seats' on Broadway this holiday season are in the Charmin Restrooms. East of Doheny has announced that it will present an invitation-only reading of the new screwball musical comedy My Man Godfrey on Friday, March 6, 2009. The musical, based on the book by Eric Hatch and the Universal Pictures film starring Carole Lumbard and William Powell, features music and lyrics by Tony Award-winner Mark Hollmann (Urinetown, The Musical) and book by Tony Award-winner Rupert Holmes (Curtains, The Mystery by Edwin Drood). Matthew August (Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas) directs.
