Fresh off a successful run of Ain't Too Proud at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Jahi Kearse returns to B Street to play Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the original production Martin Luther King Jr. & The Sound of Freedom as the first play of the 2019 Family Series. Kearse plays Motown founder and record executive Berry Gordy in Ain't Too Proud, a hit new musical about the life and times of The Temptations. Immediately following Sound of Freedom Kearse will join his Ain't Too Proud castmates in New York City for a Broadway run of the musical at the Imperial Theatre, reprising his role as Gordy.

Charlotte's Web is a heartwarming story of a special friendship between a lovable pig and everyone's favorite spider. When a runt pig is born on the Arable farm, the young girl Fern saves him and nurtures him. She names him Wilbur and helps him grow big and strong. Wilbur is moved to the Zuckerman farm where he befriends a batch of barnyard animals, including a talented spider that weaves words into her web that are crucial to saving Wilbur's life as the story unfurls.

Asheville Creative Arts (ACA), Asheville's professional children's theatre, continues in its 7th season to build on the successful mounting of its first world premiere, BUGS!, to present a second world premiere, LINTHEAD, as well as a new take on the family classic, CHARLOTTE'S WEB. Its mobile unit, which launched last season with the touring puppet musical, SLUG & SNAIL, will grow to include the touring version of BUGS!, and the company will offer expanded educational opportunities with both spring after-school classes and 2 sessions of summer camp. Ghostlight Theatricals in association with Rising Star Resort & Casino in Rising Sun, Indiana will present "A Christmas Story: The Musical," a professional dinner theatre production at the Grand Theatre at Rising Star Resort & Casino. Performances will be Thursday through Sunday beginning November 15 and continuing through December 28. Show times are as follows: Thursday through Saturday buffet dinner starts at 5:45 with the performance at 7:00; Saturday and Sunday matinee buffet starts at 11:45 with the performances at 1:00. Stages Theatre Company (STC) will launch its Most Magnificent Season of Theatre for Young Audiences with the literary classic, E.B. White's Charlotte's Web, dramatized by Joseph Robinette. The tale, filled with heart, hardship and imagination, centers around the unlikely connection formed between Wilbur, an irresistible pig, and Charlotte, a witty and resourceful spider. The heartwarming children's story about friendship, directed by Jeannine Coulombe, comes alive on our mainstage September 21st and will run through October 21st, 2018.
