A total of 35 established and emerging writers, composers and lyricists will converge on the Goodspeed campus this month to participate in the first-ever Johnny Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing more than twenty new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

Chad Kimball, Saycon Sengbloh, Jason Gotay and Sami Gayle will perform songs featuring music by composer Jeff Thomson with lyrics by Jeremy Desmon and Jordan Mann at The Duplex, tonight, November 18th at 9:30pm in New York City. New York Theatre Barn (Joe Barros, Artistic Director; Jason Najjoum, Producing Director; Barry Levine, Managing Director) will launch the 6th consecutive year of its acclaimed monthly platform for emerging musical theater writers, NYTB in the D-Lounge, on July 9, 2012 at the D-Lounge of the Daryl Roth Theatre. Featured writing teams will be Charlie Sohne and Tim Rosser, and Adam Spiegel and Dan Wolpow, all alumni of the Tony Award-winning BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Featured writers for later months in the 6th season will be announced at a later date.

Drew Overcash and Joe's Pub are hosting a concert to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on August 26th.

This winter Matt Murphy Productions presents its fourth national tour of Virtually Me! (www.virtuallyme.org). Taking place at Wi-Fi High in Anywhere, USA, Virtually Me! is an entirely original, educational musical for today's blogging, emailing, Facebooking, IM'ing, and texting generation. Originally directed by Jeremy Dobrish, this touring production has been remounted by Gina Rattan, and features choreography by Wendy Seyb, music by Jeff Thomson, lyrics by Jordan Mann, and a book by Jeremy Desmon and Jeremy Dobrish.

The Broadway aimed musical adaption of the 90's cult classic Jawbreaker will receive an industry reading in Manhattan on October 13th under the direction of Gabriel Barre. With a book by Darren Stein (writer and director of the film) and a score by Jeffrey Thomson and Jordan Mann (Jonathan Larson award winners), the cast includes Diana DeGarmo (Hair, Hairspray), Joanna Glushak (Les Miserables, Urinetown), Van Hughes (American Idiot, 9 to 5, Hairspray), Tracy McDowell (Rent), Ryah Nixon, Marty Thomas (Wicked, Xanadu) and Libby Winters (American Idiot).
