Breaking News: Jake Gyllenhaal Will Make Musical Debut in Encores! LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS This Summer!

Jake Gyllenhaal, Chuck Cooper and Taran Killam will join the previously announced Ellen Greene in the Encores! Off-Center concert production ofHoward Ashman and Alan Menken's Little Shop of Horrors, running July 1-2, 2015. NOTE: A third performance has been added at 2pm on Thursday, July 2 in order to meet ticket demand. The production will be directed by Dick Scanlan, with choreography by Patricia Wilcox. Jeanine Tesori is the Artistic Director of Encores! Off-Center, and Chris Fenwick is Music Director. The show will mark the musical theater debuts of both Gyllenhaal and Killam.

Point Foundation (Point) just honored actor Jonathan Groff, with the Point HORIZON Award. The Award recognizes a young trailblazer who has taken a leadership role as an advocate of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. Groff, currently starring in HBO's critically acclaimed series 'Looking' and appearing in the Public Theater's hit musical 'Hamilton,' was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in 'Spring Awakening.' Tony Winner Sutton Foster Added to Broadway Series in Santa Monica

Sutton Foster won two Tony Awards for her leading roles in "Anything Goes" and "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and starred in the ABC Family TV series "Bunheads." She has just returned to TV this spring as the star of the new series "Younger" on TV Land by "Sex and the City" creator Darren Star, to rave reviews. Sutton will make her anticipated debut with the celebrated Broadway @ The Broad series in Santa Monica, CA, produced by Mark Cortale, for two shows only on June 14, 2015 at 5:00 and 8:00 PM, with series host and SiriusXM radio star Seth Rudetsky at the piano. What differentiates this concert series from any other is the seamless mix of intimate, funny and revealing behind-the-scenes stories from Broadway's biggest stars and their stellar singing of musical theatre repertoire. Jonathan Groff will receive the Point HORIZON Award at tonight's (April 13) Point Honors gala at the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue. The gala program also features the presentation of the Point Courage Award to actor Jeffrey Tambor. The evening is a benefit for Point Foundation, the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students of merit.

In celebration of the third annual International Day of Happiness at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the NGO Relations and Advocacy Section of DPI held an expert global panel yesterday, exploring scientifically proven data that demonstrates the inverse relationship that wealth (both national and personal) can have on happiness. Broadway Conductor and Composer Mary-Mitchell Campbell, currently serving as musical director of Finding Neverland, and Founder of Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP) served as the event's Moderator. Campbell called upon her friend Jonathan Groff, who is currently appearing onstage in Hamilton, to celebrate the special occasion on Good Day New York. Below, watch as they perform 'Happy Days are Here Again' and 'Get Happy.'
