George Street Playhouse continues its series of Pride Nights for the Gay Community on March 29, following the performance of the Playhouse's smash hit courtroom drama, Twelve Angry Men. For $55 patrons will receive premium seating for the 8pm performance, and admission to the post-show reception at Mike's Courtside Bar and Grill featuring complimentary snacks, drink specials and door prizes.

The Guthrie Theater and The Acting Company (TAC) reunite for a third year, presenting The Comedy of Errors, the hilarious tale of double mistaken identities, in repertory with Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare's classic romance about star-crossed lovers, January 8 - 30, on the McGuire Proscenium Stage.

ATC proudly presents a limited engagement of ROMEO AND JULIET, the 'greatest love story ever told,' performed by two of America's premier classical theatre companies for a limited run, November 4-7 at the Herberger Theater Center in Phoenix and November 11-14 at the Temple of Music and Art in Tucson. Producer Orin Wolf and Off the Aisle Productions have announced that It Must Be Him, a new comedy by Kenny Solms, co-creator and writer of the legendary, Emmy Award-winning 'Carol Burnett Show,' will premiere this summer at the Peter J. Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street). Directed by Daniel Kutner, It Must Be Him began performances on Tuesday, August 24, and officially opened on Wednesday, September 1. The limited engagement ends Sunday, September 26.

It's not shaping up to be a very promising season for alumni of The Carol Burnett Show.  Just like the recently closed Viagra Falls, Kenny Solms' It Must Be Him offers a terrific company of comical pros working hard to inject any mirth possible into ninety minutes of tepid material.

Though Teresa Deevy was arguably the world's most famous female playwright in 1942, the year she completed her class-conscious romance Wife To James Whelan, the new management of Dublin's Abbey Theatre, which had already produced six of her plays, turned it down.  The once-prolific career of the dramatist whose love for theatre began after being diagnosed at age 20 as incurably deaf due to Meniere's disease, skidded to a halt, making her name, at least on this shore, all but forgotten now.

Celebrity guests, including Angelica Huston, Joan Rivers, Joel Grey, Phyllis Newman, Anthony Rapp, Gail Parent, and Sandy Gallin cheered on the opening night of It Must Be Him, written by Kenny Solms and directed by Daniel Kutner last night, September 1.

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival, one of the country's leading theatres in the creation of new stage works, will produce the world premieres of Nobody and The Fall of the House this spring. Produced in a series called Provocative Premieres, Nobody will run March 12-28 and The Fall of the House will run April 9-25. Both plays have been developed through ASF's prestigious Southern Writers' Project new play development program. The Provocative Premieres are suggestive, stimulating and extreme, promising to take audiences to the edge.
