Berkshire Theatre Fest Hosts Auditions For THE WIZARD OF OZ

Berkshire Theatre Festival seeks child and adult actors, musicians, backstage crew, technical support, usher staff, and parent volunteers to participate in its upcoming community production of the musical The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum adapted by John Kane for The Royal Shakespeare with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg, background music by Herbert Stothart, Dance and Vocal Arrangements by Peter Howard, Orchestration by Larry Wilcox, based upon the Classical Motion Picture owned by Turner Entertainment Co. and distributed in all media by Warner Bros.

Daniel Evans Reunites With Friedman In 'Swell Party'

Daniel Evans who recently starred in the Broadway production of Sunday In The Park With George, will be re-uniting with Oliver Award Winner Maria Friedman in Swell Party. Swell Party is a concert celebrating the life of musician Cole Porter at London's Cadogan Hall. The concert will run for four nights only, August 6th-9th 2008.

On June 11th, 2008 COMPOSE YOURSELF! began at the York Theatre Company The music is by Larry Grossman with lyrics by Hal Hackady, Ellen Fitzhugh, Betty Comden & Adolph Green, Buz Kohan, Carol Hall, Fred Ebb,Amanda Green, Drey Shepperd and Michael Korie. The cast boasts Nikki Renee Daniels (Les Misérables), Darius de Haas (Rent), Jason Graae (A Grand Night for Singing), Tony Nomimee Liz Larsen (Hairspray, The Most Happy Fella), Lorna Luft (Guys and Dolls) and Howard McGillin (The Phantom of the Opera). Stuart Ross (Forever Plaid creator) directs the production with music direction by David Snyder. Award-winning composer Grossman is featured at the piano.
