Theater Latte Da previously announced that a season of four adventures in musical storytelling and the continuation of a major new work development program will comprise its 16th Season. Slated for production are Steerage Song at The Lab Theater (today, September 25 - October 20, 2013), All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 at the Pantages Theatre (December 19-22, 2013), Cabaret at the Pantages Theatre (January 15 - February 9, 2014), and Our Town at The Lab Theater (March 12 - April 6, 2014). In spring 2014, the company will bring back NEXT: New Musicals in the Making, their program to develop new works for the musical theater canon.

Bay Area Cabaret, devoted to presenting audiences with top performers who expand the definition of cabaret, enters its 10th season this fall with a gala series at the Fairmont San Francisco's historic Venetian Room. To celebrate this significant milestone, Bay Area Cabaret presents a star-studded lineup of performers making their Bay Area Cabaret debuts, as well as the return of a few favorites from the past decade. Opening the seas tonight, September 21, 2013 with a bang is Broadway's Megan Hilty, known to millions as the powerhouse 'Bombshell' on NBC's television program Smash. The season continues October 20, 2013 with Tony nominee Norm Lewis (The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess) and November 10, 2013 with 'America's romantic piano sensation,' multi-platinum selling recording artist Jim Brickman, joined by special guest Broadway heartthrob David Burnham.

CHICAGO is back in town and it's pure entertainment! The first national tour of CHICAGO returns to the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis from tonight, September 20 through September 22.

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) presents the sensational musical Cabaret, with book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and directed and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge. This classic American musical will be performed on the Browning Mainstage of the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts, 130 Edgar Road (on the campus of Webster University), Webster Groves, tonight, September 11-October 6, 2013.

I salute any theater that tries to push itself into new creative directions. However, if you're going to do those risky shows, especially those with challenging roles, you need to have the right people to lead the way.

John Arcilla headlined a benefit concert, featuring mainly Broadway songs, accompanied by pianist Bobby Ramiro, Tuesday, August 20, at the Kalayaan Hall on Fifth Avenue to raise funds for the various charity programs of the Yonkers Millennium Lions Club.
