Statue Stories Chicago Extends Through December 2018

The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation and Sing London are pleased to announce the extension of Statue Stories Chicago through December 2018. The free, city-wide initiative, which was funded by the foundation and produced by UK-based Sing London, premiered in August 2015.

Jeff Baena's THE LITTLE HOURS sold out multiple shows this weekend at New York's Landmark Sunshine and Los Angeles' Arclight, grossing $61,560. This ranks as this weekend's highest per screen average ($30,780), and also one of the top limited theatrical openings of the year so far.

The Poway OnStage 2017/18 season opens with the arena rock of KANSAS. It continues with GRAMMY winning artists: Los Lobos, Aaron Neville, BJ Thomas and Roger McGuinn. Saturday Night Live alumna and Broadway leading lady Ana Gasteyer brings her cabaret show. Local music takes center stage with Six String Society's Sounds of the Big Easy and roots rockers Berkley Hart. Cameron Carpenter brings his international touring organ and a wide repertoire of classical and modern pieces. Love Letters From Vietnam is a unique live theatrical musical performance of Alex Woodward's songs written for the daughter of Vietnam vet Sgt. John K. Fuller. TAO: Drum Heart closes the season with their world tour of large-scale Japanese taiko drumming, dance and martial arts.

Lauren Weedman, who took the city by storm with The People's Republic of Portland, is back once again for the world premiere of her first music-based production, Lauren Weedman Doesn't Live Here Anymore. The Armory's Associate Artistic Director Rose Riordan will direct the production. Tim Sonnefeld will provide music direction and join Weedman on stage to play guitar, along with Ji Tanzer on drums. The production will mark Weedman's debut on The Armory's U.S. Bank Main Stage. Lauren Weedman Doesn't Live Here Anymore begins preview performances on March 16; the opening night/press night is March 24; and regular performances run throughApril 30.

Rehearsals began this week for the revival of John Guare's critically acclaimed play Six Degrees of Separation starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train) as Ouisa, Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') as Flan and Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy') as Paul. Directed by Trip Cullman (Significant Other, Yen), Six Degrees of Separation will begin previews Wednesday, April 5 prior to the official opening on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Barrymore Theatre. The production will play a 15-week run through Sunday, July 16.
