Maryland Ensemble Theatre Presents A REVOLUTIONARY CHRISTMAS

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents the third play in its seventeenth Mainstage season, the World Premiere of 'A Revolutionary Christmas'. Written by Reiner Prochaska and directed by Suzanne Beal, the play tells the story of a family living on a German farm in Frederick during the Revolutionary War. When they end up taking an escaped Hessian soldier captive, the soldier helps them rediscover love, hope, forgiveness, and the meaning of Christmas. A show for the whole family and an excellent way to celebrate the holidays, it will run at MET this December for fourteen performances over four weeks.

Comedy Pigs to Play Remaining Shows of Season at MET this Month, June

The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) hilarious improv troupe have only four shows remaining in their 21st season. The final two prime-time shows are at 9pm on May 16 and 17. The season will then conclude with shows on June 14 and 21 at 10:30pm following the mainstage performance of Sarah Ruhl's In The Next Room or The Vibrator Play. Tickets to the late night shows are half price with your mainstage show ticket stub. All shows are at Maryland Ensemble Theatre (31 W Patrick St.), located downtown in the historic FSK Hotel. As part of the Art After 5 series, the Philly-based band will perform today, May 9 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The band is made up of internationally renowned vibraphonist Tony Miceli, vocalist/harmonicist Paul Jost, bassist Kevin MacConnell and drummer Charlie Patierno. Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will present the original one man show TruthPaste: A Blotto Biography. The show, created by and starring MET Artistic Director Tad Janes, made its World Premiere at MET last March to high praise. In DC Metro Arts' five star review Mike Spain wrote, 'Truthpaste: A Blotto Biography is a fun and crazy, high-energy, quick-changing, real, honest, extremely funny, and one heck of a roller coaster ride. You'll have a great time!'. On bringing the show back Janes said, 'I got such a great response the first time, and have had people say they wanted to see it again or people who didn't get the chance to see it in the first place; so, why not bring it back?'.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET), Frederick's largest producing non-profit theatre will be holding a Bowl-A-Thon at Terrace Lanes today, April 26 to benefit their ongoing Capital Campaign to raise funds for a second performance venue. The Bowl-A-Thon will provide a fun activity for the whole family to participate in that will help the MET better serve its students and patrons. MET will cover the costs of all the bowling, food and drinks and is looking forward to enjoyable afternoon at the lanes that will include prizes for the top earners.
