The Big Band sounds of Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman and Woody Herman are revived as jazz clarinet master and Benny Goodman alumnus Ken Peplowski teams up with the Capital Jazz Orchestra at the historic Capitol Center for the Arts in Downtown Concord on Sunday, April 2 for "Artie, Benny, Woody". Tickets are currently on sale starting at $20, plus any applicable fees for phone/Internet sales.  

Corky Hale, the legendary jazz harpist, pianist and vocalist, will perform her new show, 'An Evening With Corky Hale,' at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood on Wed., Feb. 1 at 8:30 PM.

The martini-swigging, tuxedo clad, rock and roll original is back!  The Ridgefield Playhouse and Pepsi Rock Series bring Buster Poindexter to the stage on Today, January 19at 8 pm for an uproarious and dazzling night of music!  Buster Poindexter (nee David Johansen) first attracted attention as a glam rock pioneer (in the New York Dolls, with whom he still tours) and then as an early MTV idol with his chart-topping dance hit "Hot Hot Hot".  Today, the words 'blues' and 'shouting' are, alas, inextricably linked, but what about the tradition of mellow blues crooners that extended through Charles Brown, Nat King Cole and, in their more romantic moments, Joe Williams and Ray Charles.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) closes its 2015/16 MainStage season with Pulitzer-prize winning playwright Tracy Letts' urban comedy-drama Superior Donuts-running May 27th to June 19th at the MainStage MET Theatre on 31 West Patrick Street in Frederick, MD.

Growing up on the south side of Chicago, Caesar thought playing the guitar was his life's calling. His family traveled to Indianapolis twice a year for a big family cookout, and he'd watch his cousin, Odell Rhodes, jam in the living room with Wes Montgomery, who, unbeknownst to 8-year-old Caesar, would come to be regarded as one of America's most seminal jazz guitarists.

The Recording Academy® announced its Special Merit Awards recipients today, and this year's Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are Ruth Brown, Celia Cruz, Earth, Wind & Fire, Herbie Hancock, Jefferson Airplane, Linda Ronstadt, and RUN DMC.

Dale Head (dalehead.net), a jazz and blues powerhouse vocalist and trumpet player, today announced that he will be performing his blues and jazz tunes at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters Conference (APAP) accompanied by a ten-piece orchestra. 'APAP is the world's largest forum for performing arts professionals with attendees coming from all around the world,' said Dale Head.
