Blackfriars Theatre, a not-for-profit mid -sized professional theatre on Rochester's 'Theatre Row' is pleased to announce the opening of 'The Santaland Diaries,' a comedy by nationally acclaimed author David Sedaris (adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello), returning to the Blackfriars stage by popular demand.

This season, along with Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas, which runs on the Hubbard Stage, the Alley Theatre will once again present a second holiday production, David Sedaris' The Santaland Diaries on the Neuhaus Stage. Alley Artist Todd Waite will reprise his role as 'Crumpet the Elf' in the outlandish, and true, chronicles of David Sedaris' experience as a worker in Macy's SantaLand display. Also this season, for select performances Alley Artist Paul Hope will appear as 'Crumpet the Elf': December 8 at 7:30 PM, December 9 at 7:30 PM, December 10 at 6:00 PM and Saturday, December 11 at 2:30 PM.

WICKED Breaks Canadian Box Office Record at Toronto's Canon Theatre 10/21-11/28

The Broadway smash WICKED, which ran October 21 - November 28 at Toronto's Canon Theatre, shattered its own house record five times. For the week ending November 28th, the musical grossed $1,986,319 making it the highest-grossing week for a touring Broadway show in Canadian history. Over its sold-out, 6-week engagement, WICKED took in $11,459,475, grossing over $1,900,000 in 3 of those weeks.
