David Rabe's Sticks and Bones launches The New Group's 20th Anniversary Season. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production features Richard Chamberlain, Nadia Gan, Holly Hunter, Morocco Omari, Bill Pullman, Ben Schnetzer and Raviv Ullman. Previews begin tonight, October 21 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, November 6. A limited Off-Broadway engagement plays through December 14 at The New Group at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).

Tickets to the first preview on Tuesday, October 14 are free and available by lottery in The Public Theater lobby and by TodayTix mobile app. Member tickets, starting at $40, and single tickets, starting at $60, are available now by calling (212) 967-7555, www.publictheater.org, or in person at the Taub Box Office at The Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street. The Library at The Public is open nightly for food and drinks, beginning at 5:30 p.m., and Joe's Pub at The Public continues to offer some of the best music in the city.

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) announces this season's Joe A. Callaway Award winners for Direction and Choreography from more than 200 eligible productions in the 2013-2014 New York City theatre season. This year's awards will be presented to John Rando for his direction of The Heir Apparent, produced by Classic Stage Company, and Martha Clarke for her choreography of Cheri, produced by Signature Theatre.

The 2014 recipients of the Horton Foote Prize, named in honor of the legendary writer, to award excellence in American Theater, were just presented last night. The 2014 Prize for the 2012-13/2013-14 seasons' Outstanding New American Play was awarded to The Body of an American by Dan O'Brien and the 2014 Prize for Promising New American Play was awarded to Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2, & 3) by Suzan-Lori Parks. A number of efforts to count, study, analyze and report on the status of women in theatre, in recent years, have focused on playwrights and directors. This new study looks at a broader range of professional roles with a specific focus on Off-Broadway productions.

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3), written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair Suzan-Lori Parks. Directed by Jo Bonney, FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3) begins previews on Tuesday, October 14 and runs through Sunday, November 16, with an official press opening on Tuesday, October 28.

The New York Neo-Futurists, critically acclaimed creators of the award-winning theatrical experience Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, have announced that the company's 2014 Gala will honor actor and playwright Eric Bogosian. The event-which will include live performances by the Neo- Futurists, exciting live and silent auctions, as well as cocktails, snacks and a dessert bar- will take place at the Bowery Hotel from 7 p.m to 10 p.m., Monday, November 17, 2014. David Schwimmer, John Pollono & More Will Join MCC Theater for 2014 Playlab Reading Series

MCC THEATER has announced the 2014 PlayLabs reading series, which will feature new works in development by playwrights Stephen Belber, John Pollono, and Will Snider. "Friends" alum David Schwimmer, currently represented off-Broadway with his direction of the critically-acclaimed hit Sex with Strangers, is set to direct Belber's Shut Up When You Talk to Me. Pollono's Lost Girls will be directed by MCC alum Jo Bonney, who also directed MCC's hit production of Pollono's Small Engine Repair. Snider's How to Use a Knife will be helmed by Kareem Fahmy. Readings will be held on September 15th, September 29th, and October 6th, respectively, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street). All readings are at 7pm.
