The League of Professional Theatre Women will present an event, "A Discussion: Designers and Directors" focusing on the roles and careers of the unseen artists in professional theater, on Monday September 29 from 6pm to 8pm at TheatreLab at 357 W. 36th St. on the 3rd floor.

Featured speakers will include: Broadway costumer Carrie Robbins (Grease), off-Broadway director Jo Bonney (subUrbia), and regional set designer Rachel Hauck (Mark Taper Forum).

Additional panelists will include: lighting designer Christina Watanabe (Living Theatre), and choreographer Shigeko Suga (Pan Asian Rep). The discussion will be moderated by the co-chairs of LPTW's Networking Committee, Richarda Abrams and Romy Nordlinger.

Abrams and Nordlinger are excited about the event. "This is an impressive group of theater artists," states Abrams, "We're looking forward to hearing how these women negotiated such remarkable careers in today's theater and discussing what they feel is needed for women to achieve gender parity in the marketplace."

The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A with audience members and an informal networking session. (Remember to bring your business cards!) Refreshments will be available.

Admission to this Networking Monday Event is $15; Tickets may be purchased online at http://LPTWNetworkingSept29th.bpt.me or call Brown Paper Tickets: 1-800-838-3006. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. Admission for LPTW members is free. LPTW members are asked to RSVP to Networking@TheatreWomen.org or Call 1-888-297-3117 x 1.
