Local performer Jerick Hoffer, winner of the hit reality TV show 'RuPaul's Drag Race' as drag alter ego Jinkx Monsoon and co-star of the critically acclaimed off-Broadway sleeper hit The Vaudevillians, return to Seattle through December 22 for an encore performance of Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the historic Moore Theatre, a co-production of Balagan Theatre and Seattle Theatre Group. Following the December 18th performance, Hoffer partnered with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center to host an exclusive VIP after party, Cabaret for a Cause: A Jinkx Monsoon partnership with Fred Hutch to end HIV. They return to the Emerald City to share the holidays with their fans in two exclusive performances of Jinkx Monsoon & Major Scales: Unwrapped after a week of performances of Unwrapped at The Laurie Beechman Theater in New York City.

It seems everything is coming up Jinkx lately. What with winning "RuPaul's Drag Race", a sold out run of his "Vaudevillians" show in New York, and his award winning performance of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" here in Seattle (click here for my review of last January's production), Jerick Hoffer (a.k.a. Jinkx Monsoon) has a lot to crow about. And now with three upcoming shows in December (including a remount of the aforementioned "Hedwig"), it seems Jinkx is taking over the Holidays as well. I recently had a conversation with Jerick in between his many rehearsals to see how his whirlwind life has been going since the win.

Jinkx Monsoon, the alter ego of Jerick Hoffer and season five winner of RuPaul's Drag Race, will star in Off-Broadway's hit production 'The Vaudevillians' at one of New England's most prestigious music and comedy venues summer of 2014. Hosted by Provincetown's Art House Theatre, the drag-comedy sensation will reprise her role as Kitty Witless, alongside co-star and co-writer Richard Andriessen, better known as Dr. Dan von Dandy. Theatre Development Fund's (TDF) fun and informative online theatre dictionary, at www.theatredictionary.org, is celebrating the year anniversary of its launch. During this first year the number of theatre terms more than doubled - from 20 to 43, all featuring unique videos as well as written definitions. To mark the occasion, TDF is premiering a new video defining the term 'Commedia dell'arte' starring RuPaul's Drag Race 5th Season winner JINKX MONSOON and MAJOR SCALES, her co-star in the hit NYC Stage production The Vaudevillians (currently at the Laurie Beechman Theatre through November 11).
