Following last season's sell out performances of Barefoot in the Park, The Players' Ring Theatre is again bringing the work of Neil Simon to Portsmouth with their upcoming presentation of The Gingerbread Lady, running through May 21.

Jimmy Perry and David Croft's classic BBC comedy is brought gloriously to life on stage with three episodes hilariously and lovingly enacted by two master performers.

Self-appointed Captain Mainwaring, the pompous bank manager, is created with true authenticity by Bradley Pope in his first major role, and it is testament to his outstanding commitment that he cut off his thick head of hair to become Mainwaring's double.

Two acclaimed actors play 25 characters in this brilliant staging of three classic Dad's Army radio episodes based on favourite scripts from the original TV series. Dad's Army Radio Show celebrates 50 years of Jimmy Perry and David Croft's quintessential sitcom, which won the Best One-Liner accolade in a poll of comedians conducted by digital channel Gold, with the immortal words "Don't tell him, Pike" from The Deadly Attachment episode.

Artistic Director of Watford Palace Theatre, Brigid Larmour, today announces the Autumn Season with the centrepiece being the theatre's first produced Shakespeare in 10 years - Much Ado About Nothing with an all-female cast. The production is directed by Drew Fitzsimmons and produced by Jenny Boone and Lynn Gutstadt for Kentwood Players with rights secured from Samuel French. Featured in the cast (in alphabetical order) are Marco Garcia Ballare, Sara Bozin, Al Gomez, Ken MacFarlane, Lezlie Moore, and Genous Novin.
