CSULB Theatre Arts Department Announces 2016 Gala Host, Honorees

CSULB Theatre Arts Department recently announced their 2nd annual gala, Theatre Art a la Carte, to raise funds for student educational programs, honor community partners, and 'celebrate all things theatre.' The event, to be held on Sunday, May 1st at the Theatre Arts building, will be hosted by Craig Anton, an accomplished comedian as seen on Jimmy Kimmel and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Honorees are Dr. David Dowell, CSULB's Provost and Senior Vice President, retiring this year; Jerry and Flora Loeb, long-time CSULB Theatre Arts board members and greater Long Beach arts contributors; and Jeremy Ancalade, VP of Operations at The Trevor Project and alumnus of the program.

During the week of February 29, 2016, ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live” outdelivered CBS' “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” by 9% among Adults 18-49 (668,000 vs. 613,000), marking the ABC late-night program's 4th win in 5 weeks over CBS' “Colbert.” “Kimmel” also beat “Colbert” by 24% among Adults 18-34 (214,000 vs. 172,000), winning for the 2nd-straight week.

Recently there were primaries and caucuses held in Michigan, Hawaii, Idaho and Mississippi all on the same day. As you are probably aware, those states are abbreviated as MI, HI, ID and MS, respectively. Jimmy wondered how many people actually know these very common state abbreviations, so he went on the street to find out on KIMMEL.
