In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Broadway production this fall, Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater mounts a new staging of Fiddler on the Roof, the iconic musical that has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide. Featuring a book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and based on Sholem Aleichem stories, Fiddler on the Roof runs October 31, 2014-January 4, 2015 in the Fichandler Stage. Plans were announced today for American Ballet Theatre's 75th Anniversary season by Kevin McKenzie, Artistic Director, and Rachel S. Moore, CEO. The 15-month long celebration will be highlighted by performances of ABT's historic repertoire presented during the Company's 2014 and 2015 seasons, a special PBS American Masters documentary by Ric Burns, a touring exhibit by the Library of Congress, a 75th Anniversary Gala and a new commemorative souvenir program.

On Her Shoulders is pleased to present a FREE staged reading of The Office (1966) by Maria Irene Fornes, directed by Alice Reagan tonight, October 1, 2014. Doors open at 6:30pm; The Play in Context, which situates the script in its historical time and place, kicks off the evening at 6:45pm with an Introduction by dramaturg Morgan Jenness.

I LIKE YOUR STYLE: A TRIBUTE TO JOE LAYTON, hosted by six-time Emmy Award winner Bruce Vilanch, will take place Monday, October 20th, 2014, at 7 pm, St. Luke's Theater, 308 West 46th St., NYC. Featuring performances by Loni Ackerman, Jill O'Hara, Walter Willison, rare video footage of Layton shows, and a gaggle of gypsies to discuss Joe's Life and Legacy.

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts has just announced a slew of theatrical events for October, which will feature King Lear, Fiddler on the Roof, and much more. Check out the full list below!

Dancers Over 40 honors prolific director/choreographer Joe Layton, who crossed all mediums to create memorable musicals, TV specials, concerts and much more, including Two by Two, Sail Away, Once Upon a Mattress, Sound of Music, No Strings, Dear World, George M!, and Barnum, just to name a few. DO40 members who have worked with Joe on multiple shows and will be panelists include Nicole Barth, James Dybas, Dorothy Frank Danner, Carolyn Kirsch, Sondra Lee, Lawrence Leritz, Patti Mariano, Lawrence Merritt and Mary Zahn.

The Old Globe will celebrate its 80th Anniversary as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration with a 2015 Summer Season featuring Shakespeare onstage and in film. 2014 Tony Award winner for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and former Old Globe Shakespeare Festival Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak returns to direct the spectacular musical classic Kiss Me, Kate, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, book by Sam and Bella Spewack, and choreography by Peggy Hickey, in association with Hartford Stage.

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre continues its 35th Season with the musical CANDIDE, Royal National Theatre Version, with music by Leonard Bernstein, book adapted from Voltaire by Hugh Wheeler, in a new version by John Caird; and lyrics by Richard Wilbur, additional lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, John Latouche, Lillian Hellman, Dorothy Parker and Leonard Bernstein. Featuring Leonard Bernstein's soaring score and lyrics from some of the wittiest writers of all time, this rollicking musical satire chronicles the lives and loves of Candide, a simple soul whose glass is always half-full.

A compelling first official poster has been unveiled for the upcoming hotly anticipated Lincoln Center Theater revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's beloved classic musical THE KING & I starring Ken Watanabe and Kelli O'Hara.

Poetic Theater Productions, under the direction of Co-Artistic Directors' Jeremy Karafin and Alex Mallory, has announced that it will stage the world premiere of BACK, a new play written by Mickey Bolmer and directed by Andrew Willis-Woodward, that celebrates and mourns the history of Greenwich Village through the lives and stories of Frank O'Hara, Cookie Mueller, Hibiscus, Nan Goldin and Aaron Burr, among others. BACK features production design by Rachel Klein and begins previews on Friday, October 17th at 8PM at the cell, 338 West 23rd St. The official opening is on Thursday, October 23rd at 8PM.

New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Wendy Whelan will bid farewell to New York City Ballet with a special one-time-only performance on Saturday, October 18 at 8 p.m. For the occasion, two of the dance world's most acclaimed choreographers, Alexei Ratmansky and Christopher Wheeldon, will collaborate on a world premiere piece d'occasion for Whelan.

Today we celebrate one of the most beloved musicals of all time in honor of its 50th birthday this week, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.

This November Islington's King's Head Theatre is to stage the world premiere of Norris Church Mailer's stage play Go See, a gripping exploration of personal, cultural and sexual identity in a big city. Directed by Sondra Lee and designed by Klara Zieglerova with lighting design by Mike Robertson, the show runs November 12 to 29, 2014. Press night is slated for November 14 at 7.15 p.m.

ON THE TOWN and TodayTix, the Broadway ticket app, just announced Broadway's first ever mobile lottery, offering $20 day-of tickets to the iconic musical comedy.
