At 8:30 AM tomorrow morning will be the announcement of the nominations for this year's Tony Awards! The announcements will be made by Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon; HBO's Girls) and Tony Award winner Patina Miller (Pippin; CBS' Madam Secretary). She's one of Broadway's sassiest new stars and she's making a splash this season as 'Sofia' in the critically acclaimed revival of THE COLOR PURPLE. Danielle Brooks just told us all about her journey to TV and and Broadway in  SAG-AFTRA Foundation and BroadwayWorld.com's Conversations Q&A series, celebrating the vibrant theatre community in New York City and the actors who aspire to have a career on the stage and screen. The 30th annual Easter Bonnet Competition, celebrating six weeks of fundraising by 58 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies, raised a record-shattering $5,528,568 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the largest grand total from either an Easter Bonnet Competition or Gypsy of the Year fundraising campaign in Broadway Cares history. The show featured a surprise performance by rock legend Stevie Nicks, two top awards to Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of Hamilton, and more than 230 of the best actors, singers and dancers in New York. There are still many parts yet to be cast (or at least announced), including the star of the show, Tracy Turnblad. The 30th annual edition of Easter Bonnet Competition will feature performances by more than 230 Broadway and Off-Broadway singers and dancers, the Broadway Inspirational Voices and a stellar lineup of Broadway favorites, all celebrating six weeks of fundraising efforts by company members of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring productions.

Following tonight's performance of THE COLOR PURPLE, the musical's cast took an extended stay on stage in order to pay tribute to the life and legacy of Prince, who died earlier today at 57. Led by stars Jennifer Hudson, a friend of the late artist, and Cynthia Erivo, the company performed a stunning rendition of Prince's beloved song 'Purple Rain.' Eighteen-year Broadway veteran Rema Webb, currently on the Great White Way in THE COLOR PURPLE, will bring her critically acclaimed one-woman show CHILDREN WILL LISTEN to 42West for a one-night only engagement. 

On Tuesday, April 26 (1pm), join us for a Career Conversations with Danielle Brooks currently starring in The Color Purple, moderated by BroadwayWorld.com's Richard Ridge of 'Backstage with Richard Ridge!' The event will take place at The New School - University Center (63 Fifth Avenue).

Pittsburgh CLO will host an exclusive evening with Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris (Fun Home) and co-creator/star of DISASTER! Seth Rudetsky at the CLO Cabaret on May 23.
