The Palisades Virtuosi flute, clarinet and piano trio presents their Spring Concert and CD Launch Party on Saturday, May 13 @ 7:30 PM at Forte Piano Music Company, 159 W Route 4 in Paramus, New Jersey.

The Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Heiichiro Ohyama, will perform a compelling program of woodwind masterworks by Stravinsky, Kurt Weill, and other notable composers at the Lobero Theatre on Tuesday, March 21. 

(mostly)musicals kicked off their 4th season in style with songsforaHAPPYnewyear at the E Spot Lounge on Monday, January 16. This was the company's 21st entry in a series of themed cabarets, and set a new attendance record. On Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 7:30pm, BAC and Composers Now co-present Dialogues with Margaret Brouwer, Esperanza Spalding, and Du Yun and performances by Amy Schwartz Moretti, Blair McMillen, Michael Lipsey, Du Yun,and String Noise, moderated by Composers Now founder, artistic director, and composer Tania Leon.

On Friday, November 4, 2016 at 7:30pm, BAC presents theremin virtuoso and composer Carolina Eyck with the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), in the world premiere of Eyck's Fantasias for theremin and string quartet.

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre announces the art installation that brings together four artists including Scott Bennett,  Marne Cohen-Vance, Laurie Le Clair, and Jeff Scott who are career theatrical artisans, contributing to productions in every major theatre company in Seattle. Their work both refers to and incorporates the theme of time into the exhibit. All four of these installations will be located throughout ACT's building and ask the viewer to become part of the art, and to engage it in real time.

The Harlem Chamber Players and ChamberMusicNY are pleased to announce that the New York State Council on the Arts has awarded a grant for the commissioning of composer Jeffrey Scott's A Hug For Harlem.

New Jersey Performing Arts Center is proud to announce the TD James Moody Jazz Festival, headlined by the legendary Tony Bennett, from November 7-15, 2015. With help from NJPAC Jazz Advisor Christian McBride, this festival promises to be one of the largest gatherings for jazz fans on the East Coast, showcasing all-star line-ups with some of the country's best musicians, such as Dianne Reeves, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings and the Sarah Vaughan Vocal Competition. Now in its fourth year, the festival offers nine days of concerts, panel discussions and workshops around Newark, in honor of saxophonist, bebop pioneer, and Newark native James Moody. 

TSO's 15th year of touring presents the encore and final performance of their multi-platinum rock opera, 'The Lost Christmas Eve.' TSO's 2013 Winter Tour will play over 100 shows in 67 cities across North America, presented by Hallmark Channel.

This event celebrates, and is in appreciation of, living composers; the program consists of sixteen pieces of music written expressly for Mr. Levy and his colleagues [the majority will be World or New York premiere performances].

The performers joining Mr. Levy will be E. Scott Brubaker, horn; Theron Cromer, tenor; his granddaughter Madelyne, piano; and the critically-acclaimed and award-winning Palisades Virtuosi (Margaret Swinchoski, flute/Donald Mokrynski, clarinet/ & Ron Levy, piano).

One of the unspoken thrills of theatre is getting ready for each performance. The prep-work involves putting on wigs, applying make-up, zipping up costumes, and (in the case of My Fair Lady) applying facial hair.
