The audiences have warmed up to THE SNOW QUEEN, a rousing new musical in The New York Musical Theater Festival (NYMF). Photos from the New York City premiere at the Alice Griffin theater tell the wondrous and fantastical story.

A new musical THE SNOW QUEEN is icing up New York City for their opening tomorrow 7/14 in The New York Musical Theater Festival (NYMF). The Snow Queen had its World Premiere at the San Jose Rep in 2013 and today will have their New York City Premiere at the Alice Griffin theater.

The cast of THE SNOW QUEEN recently flew into Fox 5 New York to heat up for The New York Musical Theater Festival (NYMF) with a performance of the musical's hit tune 'Flying!' Watch the interview and performance below!

Actors by day and Folk-Rock Stars by night.. Eryn Murman and Jason Hite's Band 5j Barrow just became the official Winners of the WNYC's Ultimate Battle of the Boroughs. Hundreds of musical acts entered the competition and 5j Barrow went on to win the Manhattan battle a few months ago at The Greenespace. The final battle was held on Friday, June 27th against the other borough winners and 5j BARROW took the crown to become WNYC's # 1, 2014 Ultimate Battle Winners of NYC!

Hundreds of up-and-coming musical acts entered. Just over 60 were selected. Now, only five bands -- each representing one of New York City's boroughs -- are left standing in our 2014 Battle of the Boroughs.

The Snow Queen will have its New York premiere this summer as part of The New York Music Theatre Festival (NYMF), celebrating its 11th Anniversary Season. With a book by Kirsten Brandt & Rick Lombardo, music byHaddon Kime, lyrics by Kirsten Brandt, Haddon Kime and Rick Lombardo, with additional music by Rick Lombardo, this new musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's fantastical coming-of-age adventure will be presented in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Aves.). Directed by Mr. Lombardo, performances will begin on July 14th and continue through July 20th.

From hundreds of entries, twelve musical acts from across Manhattan were chosen by judges to compete on February 7, 2014 at The Greenespace. The 12 acts performed for a live audience, live stream and three judges, Caryn Havlik (producer of WNYC's New Sounds), Wes Jackson (Executive Director of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival) and Lindsey Cook (A&R Executive at RCA Records). Then, voters picked their top five bands. Now, after a week of voting, there's only one band standing. The WNYC, 2014 Manhattan winner in the Battle of the Boroughs is 5j BARROW!

Tonight, July 29th at 10pm NYC will get Exposed. The Cutting Room will host a night of music and poetry exposing some of NYC's best unknown and established performers. The concert is a platform encouraging these artists to display their original work to the public without apology.

Broadway's Andrew Keenan Bolger and other outstanding artists from the worlds of Broadway, television, film and other mediums came together on April 22 for the third annual broadwayUNLOCKED (formerly known as 'The Bridge'), a benefit concert celebrating the work of the Crime Victims Treatment Center (CVTC) of St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital. broadwayUNLOCKED will present a special performance of "I'm Gone" from the Broadway musical HANDS ON A HARDBODY. Allison Case and Jay Armstrong Johnson will perform the song in anticipation of GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS' upcoming Original Broadway Cast Recording, which will be recorded next month and released in June 2013. Bare plays its final performance tonight, February 3rd, 2013, after 21 previews and 65 regular performances. Bare began previews off-Broadway at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) on Monday, November 19, 2012 and opened on Sunday, December 9, 2012. Bare begins its final weekend of performances, playing its final performance on Sunday, February 3rd at 7:30pm after 21 previews and 65 regular performances. The original 2004 cast, including John Hill, Natalie Joy Johnson, Adam Fleming, and Jenna Leigh Green reunited at the show and took pictures backstage with the current cast. Check them out below!
