David Mirvish will present an explosive new musical comedy in Toronto this spring. Bring It On: The Musical will play for a strictly limited engagement, May 2 - June 3, 2012 at the Canon Theatre.

After a nationwide search of over 3,000 performers, the producers of Bring It On: The Musical are pleased to announce the cast for the National Tour which launches at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles on October 30.

NEXT presents the music of Salzman and Cunningham, Tuesday, July 26th at 9:30pm at The Duple (61 Christopher St @ 7th Ave). Tickets are $10 with a reservation ($12 at the door) plus a 2 drink minimum.

As I wrote five years ago, regarding the first edition of Town Hall's Annual Broadway's Rising Stars concert, the traditional middle evening of their Summer Broadway Festival, this is an event where I have absolutely no intention of writing anything the least bit negative about any of the young performers who were hand-picked by Scott and Barbara Siegel to sing an evening of showtunes.  I have no desire to be the critic who drives some 22-year-old to tears with a bit of constructive criticism, inspiring him or her to angrily vow to the heavens, 'Someday I'll show that Michael Dale!'

The annual Broadway's Rising Stars features students from theatrical institutions throughout the country, including AMDA, CAP21, Steinhardt, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Melon, Marymount Manhattan College, and The New School. These future performers make their debut on The Town Hall stage in what has become a national showcase. Scott Coulter is the director, with choreography by Vibecke Dahle and musical direction by John Fischer.

A revival of Bert V. Royal's DOG SEES GOD: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead will be presented this month for 3 performances on November 15th and 17th. DOG SEES GOD was first presented at The 2004 New York International Fringe Festival by Sorrel Tomlinson/File 14 Productions. This limited engagement is being presented by 5th Floor Productions.
