Performances are begin tomorrow, Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. for a limited 3-week engagement through Sunday, December 27, 2015 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).  Opening night is Sunday evening, December 13 at 6:00 p.m.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Interim Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, will present the New York premiere of Plaid Tidings, the holiday edition of the ever popular Forever Plaid, with book by Stuart Ross and vocal and musical arrangements by James Raitt, Brad Ellis, Raymond Berg and David Snyder.

The 50th Anniversary season promises to please with Michigan Premieres, a hilarious comedy, and a nostalgic musical sure to take you on a trip back in time!

It was a time of big cars, crewcuts, The Ed Sullivan Show, and beautiful music. On February 9th, 1964, a semi-professional harmony group from eastern Pennsylvania was on their way to their first big gig at the airport Hilton Cocktail Bar. While driving in their cherry-red 1954 Mercury convertible, they were rehearsing their finale when they were slammed broadside by a school bus filled with eager Catholic teens from Our Lady of Harrisburg. The teens were on their way to witness the Beatles make their U.S. television debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, and miraculously escaped uninjured. The harmony group, however, was killed instantly.

After a record-breaking fall*, the Segal Centre for Performing Arts continues its 2014-2015 Season with a new production of the Off-Broadway musical phenomenon Forever Plaid, presented by Copa de Oro Productions, in co-production with the Segal Centre. Roger Peace directs this hallmark doo-wop musical playing in the Segal Theatre from February 1 - 22, 2015. Forever Plaid is presented as part of the Festival Montreal en lumiere.

Performing on a linoleum checkered floor and sporting fashions straight out of a 1950s magazine, the boys of CATCO's latest show, "Forever Plaid," take audiences on a nostalgic journey back to the golden age of close-harmony quartets in this light-hearted musical revue.

Beck Center for the Arts presents FOREVER PLAID, written and originally directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross, with musical continuity supervision and arrangements by James Raitt.
